Thanks for trying to educate us about this. I know first hand what can happen. I have been growing water plants for several years. But I also have a lake on my property. It has been invaded with 4 leafed clover that was brought in (we assume) on the feet of the Canadian Geese or Prairie Geese that are EVERYWHERE these days. It has completely covered all banks of our lake. No one seems to know how to rid us of it. The Extension Service is at a loss. We want to maintain our large mouth bass, but we may have to sacrifice them to stop the spread. You don't have to go dump it in a river. The geese and Fishermen( who go from state to state for tournaments and bring plants on their boats and motors)and other water birds can bring it right to your DOOR !!!! Thanks again.

I'm finally making progress. Part one arrived in the mail today, part 2 should be done by the end of this week. Part 3 is easy and then voila, my package will go west (hint hint). :D No preschool this week so I need to get creative in tethering the children while I pick things up! LOL I did finally get to go out with only one kid, which made it easier. The weather finally let up enough that I could get out. Sarah was quiet or asleep most of the time, which helped!

I can. My mother suffered for a year and a half with cancer, and my father, whom although we should have realised he was a tragedy waiting to happen, showed no symptoms. He went to bed saturday night, august 31, 1985, and the next morning, he was dead at 53. At the time we were doing the tile for the Connecticut state Chief Medical Examiner's office building in Farmintgton at UConn Health Center when it happened, and as a favor to the family the CME did the autopsy himself immediately. What he told us was that even if my father had been in a cardiac ICU, there wouldn't have been anything they could have done for him, because the heart attack was so massive and so sudden. At the most, 5 minutes, and it was all over. It's a funny thing-- although it's exactly the way I'd want to go-- quick and in my sleep-- I wouldn't wish it on a family member to have to deal with it. Talk about unanswered questions! It left my whole family completely stunned. Personally, I was a mess for a few years, and even now, 20 years later, it still affects me from time to time. There are certain movies I can't watch, and certain songs I can't listen to without going to pieces because they remind me so much of him. Even just typing this out is tough. As much as you don't want to see your loved ones suffer, atleast you have the chance and the time to say good bye, and let them know how you feel, and how much they'll be missed.

No. I have no control over that, so why wish for the impossible? Vala, I agree with you. I have already stopped having mammograms; why bother when I would not agree to any treatments? Carol, you can take care of that with a will. Nanny 98, and Lydia, why wait to get those things in order? Too late when you are gone. I have it all done. Living will, power of attorney for health, and also for finances, written will, funeral plans all made and paid for. What have I forgotten? Short term memory is already a problem. Hearing is not the best, nor is my vision, due to bad cataract surgery, chronic pain in all my joints. But you know what? Life is still good! I have friends, granted not those precious "old" friends, but new ones, and my immediate family is close or a few hours away; they are doing well, and we have good times when we get together. I know that I am loved. And as for eating dessert 3 times a day? I eat what I want, when I want it. Yea, I'm probably over weight by those charts, but I'm not diabetic, no cholesterol problem, and blood pressure is okay. As for leaving money for the kids? Not a concern. If there is anything left it will be theirs. They tell me to spend it now! Life is not a bowl of cherries; sometimes it is the PITS! But I look forward every day to the next day. Oh, I am 87 years old and hoping to make it to a hundred! Sue
