A great inexpensive one is the self sharpening one from Cover girl. And it has a smudge thing on one end that comes in quite handy. It seems to last forever and is around $3. Personally, I use powder eyeshadows to line my eyes. I know it sounds odd but I took a makeup class years ago where I learned this, and it actually isnt too uncommon among those in the professional makup industry. It smudges and blends much better than liquid or pencil. The way we learned in my class was to use what kind of looked like a lip brush and dampen it slightly, but Ive adapted my method to using a little brush thing I got in a Maybelline browmakers thing (and I use it dry). Its easier to use and even fits perfectly in the cover girl eyeshadow case(I generally use the CG Midnight Jazz eye shadow color for lining). I line both top & bottom, though I go a bit lighter on the bottom. HTH!! -Devon

I had a horrible experience here in Canada with Cemrco Home Depots extended warrenty plan. will keep this as short as possible but may write way more than I should cause I am still angry over the way that I have been treated and am still being treated by Home Depot and their outsourcing to other companies to deliver merchandise and cover the extended warranty. It started wth the washer on a washer dryer combo breaking down. It took three weeks to get the first repair person in the door after taking several days off work to have it serviced. After that it took another 4 weeks supposedly to have parts ordered to fix the appliance. The parts arrive but because of holidays the repair person is on vacation. When scheduled to come in the repair person's technician's truck breaks down. The main repair person promises to come the following day. He apparently has a heart attack. His wife arranges for another technican to come in on the sturday He comes in and does not have all the parts. He shows up on the moday and cannot get the machine started but tell us to wait a half hour and it should reset. He leaves. We wait the time and try it it does not staert. I call for the 25 time to cemerco. I state the machine is not working They say they need to contact the technician who tells them it is working. I complain to home depot the following week and get a call from comerco that they will replace the unit. It takes time for me and my wife to schedule time off to go to home depot to reclaim the credit. Comerco needs to be open and their hours are 8am-5:30pm. This is my four day off work. Comerco is closed for a provincial holiday. the service counter help says that he will give it to the supervisor to look after. My wife shows up the next day to pay for delivery and the old unit to be taken away and the supervisor knows nothing of this and says she and I need to show up in the prescribed hours. She gets pissed but gets things resolved. To rub salt into the wounds the day the new appliance is to be delivered it does not show up. Moral of my story if you live in Canada do not buy from Home Depot.

@ faron: silly wabbit ;D amy, I prefer creme blush over powder, and like a lighter tint in winter. (Creme has more staying power for me.) I saw Tarte at Sephora and since it got rave reviews I picked up a tube. So convenient to apply, but agree, it feels sticky and gooey and find I'm not using it much. I'll have to check into Pixi (has to be Frag Free for me). dlm (or anyone with dry skin like me, and/or looking to make a creme blush into a 'tint'): mix it with your moisturizer. I like Mac creme blush. Can't think of the color name at the moment but my most frequently used is a deeper, almost true red, just a hint on the earthy side. (No I don't have red rougey dots on my cheeks, lol. It's not as garish as it sounds, I like subtle/natural, and in summer it gives a natural healthy flushed glow. And no sparkles, don't like glitter on my face!) But in winter with lighter skin it can be a bit much. A fix: put a little dab (pea to dime size) of your moisturizer in your palm, then dab your finger into creme blush, blend with moisturizer in your palm really well. Go easy on blush. Need a bit more color, put in a bit more blush (but be careful not to get moisturizer from your palm into the blush container, so you might use a couple different fingers for dabbing into blush). Once it's blended really well, then apply. Let it sit for a minute so it absorbs in before adding more. Otherwise it could be too much. You'll get a tint-like color, more sheer than blush alone. A little messy, but a handy workaround if you can't find a tint blush you love but have a creme shade you do.
