Dedtired, Suzy's Hungary Again is my go-to color! Started wearing it last year and went to it again this summer. I love it. I play around with some others during the fall and winter with my pedis. Don't even bother with a mani most of the time since I am always digging in the dirt and they don't last. I don't like my nails long anyway. My nail beds are already long, I have long fingers and am in the habit of keeping my nails fairly short.

"Acetone, toluene, and methanol are the basic ingredients of lacquer thinner. They are toxic and should be used in a well ventilated area." And some other hot solvents also, but these are the basics. Methanol is the most dangerous of the lot. It is easily absorbed through the skin and the body metabolizes it to formaldehyde. It preferentially damages the nerves in the retina. Acetone is the least harmful, with toluene not being very dangerous for short term exposure either. The biggest problem is they stink pretty badly. If the finish is actually lacquer you can probably just re-melt it by using an artist brush and some lacquer thinner. You will not use enough thinner to be a hazard. It will only take a few drops spread carefully on the finish and allowed to evaporate. It is unlikely you would be using more than ¼ teaspoon.

I used to love love love polish on my fingers. Always had nice long nails. I would spend ages painting them, and using acrylic paints to add seasonal touches lol. But it seems the new formulas just don't dry on my fingers any more. They dent for days. I have been tempted to try the lacquer, as it is supposed to dry instantly under a light or something. But then I am too lazy to go often to get it redone lol. I like that colour, Glenda. I like bright crazy colours too. Dances.

I only like the barest hint of color, too, for my fingers, and suggest you do only ONE COAT of whichever light, natural color you choose. (I also do a clear base and top coat with the one coat of color.) If you go with two coats of even the really natural colors, it's more opaque. I just saw Essie and OPI polishes at TJ Maxx the other day for only $3.99 each. Not sure if they are past their prime or what, but if I just wanted to do a few polishes this summer, I would probably give them a try.
