Refurbishing a purse

Posted by mrsgym (My Page) on

I bought a beautiful leather purse at a thrift shop for $6. The purse had 3 or 4 pen marks on the leather. Following advice I received, the pen marks are gone or considerably faded, but the leather has also lightened. I saw the purse else where for over $300. Has anyone had any luck with a company that can refurbish a purse?

Try a good shoe repair place. They should be able to dye the leather for you.

Thanks, I did call all the shoe cobblers in the area and no one would dye a purse. I did a search online, and found a product that I ordered and I'm going to give it a shot myself. Keep your finger crossed.

I know that hair spray will take pen ink out of fabric. I don't know how it would work on the purse, but if it means you are going to throw the purse out if you cannot remove the ink by other means, I would give it a try. It the purse suede or is it a polished leather?
