Happy Birthday Kay-Luvs
Comments (21)Thanks OA and Lynne, I've been enjoying my birthday all week! Another friend came over yesterday and we loaded up some plants and our old dog house. I've been trying to give away all the potted plants so I don't have to worry about them when we take our long motor home trips. She's going to come back and take a few more plants and a garden bench that needs repairs too. We went for lunch, then hit a few TS. I got some neat stuff, but not tablescape things. It does seeem that we have lots of forum birthdays this month! Luvs...See MoreKnow any good online upholstery fabric sources?
Comments (18)I have not been to the Waverly outlet. I accidentally found the Robert Allen Outlet when visiting the outlet mall in Gaffney. I've been approx 3 times over the past 1.5 yrs. Here's what I've found: fabric by the yard approx $5-$6/yd, folded remnants (including silk) were .10/lb last time I visited. They also have some ready made panels for various prices. On Saturdays, customers can access more inventory because the folks who work in the warehouse are not working. Hours are limited but the employees are great @ cheerleading. Specifics: Robert Allen Fabric Outlet, 50 Peachview Blvd, Gaffney SC 800-266-8579. Hope that helps. It's not too far from MaryJo's in Gastonia NC which would take another long-winded paragraph to yap about!...See MoreKay Parris Magnolia source
Comments (10)'Little Gem' was being reported as tender many years ago. It also mildews badly in my area, although this varies between specimens - of which there are a great many to study here. Some look more or less normal, others at the opposite end of the spectrum have only the newest leaves. And I've seen it broken in half horizontally by wet snow. Apparently a good plant for southern California though, where I have seen it clean, attractive and about 42' tall....See MoreKay - Need name for spray that kills wild violets
Comments (15)oooh DON'T kill them . use them . I would rather them than dandelions in my garden any day and if the space is taken up by violets then the dandelions cant grow . But when they bloom I use the blooms for violet syrup ( use as a refreshing beverage in the summer when added to sparkling water , or make candied violets to use as decoration on cakes etc. or put em in your wine ( if you make wine ) . Just a note: I did not know until last year that the reason violets can be so prolific is that they seed twice a year ,once in the spring and once in the fall so if you dont want so many remove the seed pods....See Morebud_wi
