Can anyone recommend...

I have fine hair that does not hold a curl. I wash it then let it air dry and then curl it with a curling iron but the curl loosens and it's practically straight after two hours. Can anyone recommend a drug store product that will help hold the curl I've tried gels and mousses but all seem to weigh the hair down. Any ideas!

Hair spray. Or rather, hair spritz. I use a nonaerosol hair spritz called L'Oreal Studio Mega Spritz. It's inexpensive and you can get it at most drugstores or department stores like CVS or WalMart. Works great especially when hair is dry and styled. I love it. I wish I had it back in high school when "wings" were in. My hair always wanted to flip forward instead of back like those Farrah Fawcett wings everyone had.

Before applying 511 Impregnator Penetrating Sealer to my Ergon Metal Style porcelain floor tile, I applied some to one-half of a sample tile. After it dried I sprayed the tile with water. The water beaded up and rolled off the treated part but lay flat (i.e., looked like it was absorbed) on the untreated part. My conclusion is that the floor sealed with 511 Impregnator will be much easier clean.

Not from Austin but we started by interviewing builders our architect had recommended. We also went through the local "builders association" membership list cross referencing with the web, etc. Not easy but you cast a wide net. Good luck!

Can anyone recommend an 8 x 10 rug that is just barely off-white?

Carpet samples are common, but I don’t think rug samples are. It’s also hard to suggest rugs without knowing your budget, preferred fiber content and texture. I’d look for the rug that meets all your criteria and order their smallest rug (be sure to check return policy), as colors on line can be deceiving. It should be black/bronze to match whatever the handles on the cabinet is or white if you want to lean more modern farmhouse. Brass probably isnt the right option. I'd say go with something inspired by a traditional shape with a modern element. So a simple federal style in black, for example. Going with too much of a statement is polarizing, but you also don't need to go totally builder grade. If you're the renter, do what you want. That said, I'd say still stick with a blended traditional/modern look consistent with the rest of the rooms
