My brother was watching TV one day and happened upon a program where they were describing different types of skin cancer and one looked like a blue ink pen dot. He thought that looks like the spot on the bottom of my big toe. He had noticed this before and tried to wash it off but it stayed. He made an appointment and found out it was a melanoma! It was just a speck of a thing but they ended up having to go back a second time to get a clear margin. It wasn't so much the diameter as the depth they had to go. He was on crutches for several months as it took forever for it to heal. He is now over 5 years out and no other problems. Literally the TV show saved his life as he would never have gone to the doctor. Turns out it is not as unusual as you might think. Sometimes they are found between the toes or even under the nail.

Why is she doing a steroid AB ointment in the eye? If it's for ulcers, steroids are contraindicated, and if it's a triple antibiotic ointment, those can cause anaphylaxis in cats when applied to the eye. You may want to ask your vet about that.

It sounds like you are doing beautifully. Please continue following your doctors orders and recovering so nicely. Kitty and all. My SIL had that surgery earlier this year but with incisions, and the surgeon infused her internally with something that was supposed to stop any pain for about 4 days. It did. She felt wonderful, no pain, no other medication. They sent her home with something like 8 tablets for pain after a couple of days. She didn't ever take them, took tylenol. Did your doctor tell you to go heavy on protein for the next few weeks to promote best healing? Hers did. I'd thought I'd be at her house, tip toeing around and helping her, cooking for her like I had done when she had foot surgery. None of that. She was completely comfortable and self sufficient (although her husband is now retired and was present too, there to run errands, pick up take out, lift anything she couldn't carry like laundry to the laundry room)

My DH and I have both had a blepharoplasty. He had his about 2 years before me and that was almost 15 years ago. The plastic surgeon who did ours used a general anesthesia in the operating suite in their office. It makes sense to have both eyes done at one time so you really should do this so your eyes will ‘match‘. The recovery will be about 10 days to 2 weeks. There was no ‘gauze patch’ that I recall. I did have eye cups to wear at night to protect the eye from inadvertent injury (rubbing, poking in your sleep) by me or my DH. For our insurance, we had to have a certain eye exam performed prior to approval of the surgery. Something akin to proof of visual impairment due to the drooping eyelids. I forget what he particular eye exam is called but it is the one where you have to identify blinking lights and your peripheral vision is checked. Post-surgery there were various drops during the day and ointment on the incisions at night but all in all, it was worth it. Like any other surgery, the first couple of days were the most uncomfortable but not painful. Just hard to do much since you need to keep ice on your eyes periodically.
