Polar Fleece and Pilling
| | |
Posted by Chan (My Page) on Sun, Aug 29, 04 at 23:50
I bought a polar fleece jacket that does not specify that it is non-pilling. It's 100% polyester with machine wash/dry instructions. Is there anything I can do while laundering to reduce, if not prevent, pilling?
Thanks!

Hi there, I don't have any answer for you, but you may want to post this in the sewing forum. There are a lot of knowleadgeable people over there, who make LOTS of items from fleece!! |

I heard that you should not put fabric softener in it. Linda C |

| I thought pilling was part of the charm! LOL! |

| Oh yeah! Don't EVER wash it with a towel! The little towel bits will end up stuck to your fleece. (don't ask how I know this...) |

| Make sure you wash it alone, hence it would not rub with other clothes, that might help. |

| I just bought a fleece the other day (my first) and never thought it would require so much attention, LOL. Thanks for all the advice. My label says machine wash, cool water, line dry. I would have thought it could be machine dryed, glad I checked. |

| :) turn it inside out, only wash it with non-linting/shedding objects, and line-dry it if you can. great stuff, all the same :) |
