Straight hair..hot rollers?
Comments (19)Ponder I am curious about what you said The rule of thumb for curlers. If you go around the hair more than 11/2 times it will reverse direction and do it's own thing when you let it out. Do you mean not to turn the curling iron more then 1 and half times?? I think thats what you are saying but I've never had that trouble controling it. If I want to curl your hair under I face the clip one way and if I want to curl it out it faces the other way. I'm not trying to be rude in anyway, I hope you don't take it that way! Just curious. I usually use big hot rollers for body and then let it cool and then finish up with a curling iron to help it go in the direction I want it. Then after that round cools I go to it with my round brush. I find this way last a lot longer then blowing it out with the round brush. Atleast for my hair! I love my ceramic curling iron! It heats up so fast and so even!...See MoreOnce Curly Hair Now Straight
Comments (35)I always had hair straight as a stick, fine & thin! Last year I began to get very stressed about things & my hair fell out in big chunks! My scalp also had something like psoriasis & dermatitis in it as well. I went to a knowledgeable dermatologist. She said that it was all from stress but I had also created a problem with my scalp that was very hard to heal. She gave me both a medication to destroy the scalp problem as well as minoxidil (men's strength) to bring my hair back. Even though I am 68 yrs. old I have very few gray hairs, but have red hair. Anyway as I began to use both medications as well as "calm down" my hair began growing back, curly & much thicker than before. I had tried minoxidil several times with just a little success. I was floored with how well it worked & how quickly the medication had healed my scalp problem as well! Many in my family have curly hair, but mine was always totally straight. Just wondered what might have caused my hair to become so curly! It looks just like my brother's now! I am NOT unhappy to have my hair coming back so fast, even if it is very curly!...See Moreusing rogaine for hair thinning
Comments (4)Hi. I went to my doctor, finally. She didn't test me,but told me to take black cohosh daily and get more soy into me.I bought the black cohosh and had immediate results.I am losing only a couple of strands of hair after my shower, now. She also suggested going to GNC health store and getting vitamins specifically for hair. I didn't try that. As the Rogaine, she said I could try it, but to make sure I only use the women's formula. Thanks, Mrs. H and Cheryl!...See MoreThinning hair
Comments (14)Chisue, That might have been me who mentioned the fever since I suffered from hair loss after a fever a couple of years ago. I was sick again last week with about the same thing I had back in 2007 and as I was lying there sick as a dog, I kept thinking my damn hair better not fall out again! At least that is a temporary condition but gosh I was about to get a wig when it finally stopped falling out. I took a supplement that I believe helped my hair grow in a bit quicker - Ultra Nourish for Hair from GNC. It made my chin hairs grow faster too but I guess it was a trade-off. I also used a shampoo for hair loss that I picked up in the salon at Wal-Mart. I'm not sure if that helped. DH's grandmother got a hairpiece made and it looked great. I think if you are a suffering from a non-temporary loss of hair, that is the probably the best place to concentrate your efforts (on a nice wig or hairpiece)....See Moresylviatexas1
