Sounds to me like the cotton you would like to use will be fine. I would not hesitate using a medium weight cotton on a dining room seat chair. In the fabric description you provide, I see the word "duck" used. Every time I've felt cotton that has the word duck in it, I notice it feels stronger/thicker than other cottons. Why not just use the plain cotton and then buy a piece of the clear plastic to go over the top of it.Several years ago they used to sell the clear vinyl that you could iron on the fabric to laminate it.But if memory serves me correctly,it only came in one width,which I don't think would be wide enough for what you want,and I'm not sure they even sell it anymore. Our Joanns In Washington has a pretty good selection ,the problem for me is it is a little expensiveunless you use your coupon. Another place to try is www.sewbaby.com . They do make a flannel that you can purchase it is "Suitable for Sleep wear" I can not stand to sew on it ,if your hands are dry they stick and it feels like your snagging the fabric. When my mom use to sew p.j. from flannel or knit she had to put on the care label " for lounge wear or not intended for sleep wear.The consumer had to use there own discretion. My personal feeling is I would rather in the case of a fire would want my cotton p.j.s to burn then you can drop and roll. When they are made from flame resistant fabric it will just melt and when you drop and roll it would melt to you . No thanks but thats my opinion. good luck

I have done it! I used the freezer paper method. You iron the fabric to the shiny/wax side of freezer paper (not wax paper!) and trim the sheet to fit your printer. It prints great - color or black. I did not use the "bubble jet set" - just printed right onto cotton fabric. It is not waterproof that way, but for what i did, that was OK. I have seen some things printed on burlap!
