Bare Minerals - addons HELP

Tell me about the extra colors like warmth true and glow (I think) that are not foundations nor are they blushes.

How does one use them? What's your opinion?

I wear #1 foundation with bisque under it as a concealer. I ama very fair ash blonde with redness down the middle of my face.

and won't my brush get contaminated with color if I use the foundation brush?

Those colors are blushes really. If you wish to use them, you'll need to get a different brush. I don't use these "all-over" face colors, plus blush - it's just more stuff they're getting you to buy. If you like the color as a blush, use it as a blush. If you like adding color all over your face, use it that way. I found the "warmth" to be dark and muddy, and I don't need a color all over my face. I threw it out.

Just like any cosmetics line, there are lots of "add-ons" you can spend money on or ignore.

I use #1 foundation also and found the Warmth was WAY too dark for me. I used it as a bronzer when I had a tan for a few days.

I still haven't figured out what to do with the Bisque. I bought it, thinking it was a concealer. But the foundation covers just as well, I think. I have to experiment more with that.

And I do use a different brush for each powder. The only time I mix is when I use the blush. I just got the blush, and discovered that if I dip my brush in the Mineral Veil and then in the blush, it keeps the blush from going on too dark. The blush is very concentrated and you just need a tiny bit.

Has anybody tried the Clear Radiance? Is it too shiny?

Listen to Patty! That is the proper way to deal with CLM! And the least likely to kill friendly bugs as well. Spinosad is the key (Monterey Garden Insect Spray with Spinosad). It also helps control Oriental Fruit Moths on peach trees :-) I used to clip off the old damaged leaves as well but I dont do that anymore! Listen to Patty! Your trees need the leaves and just because they look ugly it does not mean they are not helping. I dont know about some of you but in my area, sometimes literally every inch of new growth can be covered in CLM...A quote above saying that the CLM doesnt do much damage is totally wrong. They can do much damage at times, especially on young plants. They can retard any new growth. Out of all the pests in my garden, the CLM is on the top of my list for pests that need to be ELIMINATED. Traveling with Bare Minerals

Jars of minerals have "exploded" in my handbag, cosmetic bag AND suitcase--what a mess that was! But love the makeup and it IS great for traveling because there are no restrictions since it's not liquid, paste or gel. I just bought a case specifically for mineral makeup to use for everyday and for travel. Love it because my jars are always packed now and ready to go. Just pack my brush roll (I put wands, tubes & tweezers in empty pockets in the brush roll). They have lots of travel hints on the case's website. I agree with Debi except I removed the sifter lids and taped up all but one hole (with a bit blue painters tape) permanently. If some minerals are needed up into the sifter, turning the jar upside down shaking it does the trick. Using it right out of the sifter top instead of the lid helps because I was making messes all the time when I transferred the minerals to the lid and back for swirling and tapping. Donner's suggestion of inserting a cotton ball between the sifter and lid is also a good one but I'd rather just put a dot of blue tape on the one hole and not waste anything on the cotton ball. Now when I buy new colors I just poke one hole in the seal and leave it in place. Hope this helps. Here is a link that might be useful: The Mineral Case

the reason that you are feeling a pricking itching sensation on your face is not because of the minerals moving around on your face but because of the naturals sunscreen, titanium oxide. some people notice that pricking sensation when they are in the heat or sweating, it will go away after a short time. i experienced this same thing for a short time but i cannot tell you the last time that i felt that and i live where the temperature is commonly over 100 degrees and it is constantly humid. i have been using the makeup for awhile now and could never switch to anything else. i have even tried the avon mineral makeup and it is very thick and cakes easliy. bare minerals is one of the only true mineral makeups and has been around the longest.

My niece said her skin has never been better but she wasn't sure she could ONLY credit bare minerals since she also recently changed her birth control pills. I've been using the bare minerals now for about 1 month and love it more every day. It did take a little time (for me at least) to figure out how to get the best results. It is very easy to use too much since using just a tiny bit seems so counter intuitive. Now I start out with a small amount of foundation powder and buff, buff, buff that onto my whole face. Even though I now have several red spots on my face from post-menapausal acne and age spots, the foundation alone does a pretty good job of covering everything. For those spots that still peek through, I touch up with a cover-up powder they call bisque, and then buff again with the foundation brush. I also use the bisque to highlight under my eyebrows, along the sides of my nose, and between my eyes and cheek bones. A tiny bit of one of the blush powders buffed onto the cheek apples, a bit of eye shadow, and I'm set to go. I first purchased their second lightest color #2, since I've never considered myself extra light, however I went back and bought the #1.2 which is the lightest shade and like that better. You can also blend the two together right on the brush. I did purchase the Mineral Veil that can be used on top of everything else to give a matte finish, but I don't always use it. The eye shadow and blush powders are very flexible and some can be used interchangeably. You can also wet an eyeliner brush and turn any of the colors into eyeliner, or dip any lip gloss into them and add a touch of color to the lips. This stuff really is remarkable - it is so light and easy to wear. I'll never use a liquid foundation again.

I use Glee as my blusher. I apply it to my cheeks, sweep it onto my temples, and across my nose - very lightly. All of this, trying to get those places that the sun would naturally "kiss". Glee is a bit sparkly, but I find that when I follow up with a dusting of Mineral Veil, it's not too shiny or glittery. The MV kinda tones it down a bit.

I used Warmth when I was a bit tanner a few weeks ago, but as my tan faded slightly, it began to look really fake on me. Too orangey for my skin tone, I think.

I bought some little sample jars of blush on Ebay to see what colors I liked best. I figured by the time one of the pots was gone, I would know which one to buy. There's a lot of powder in those little jars, and I would recommend trying several if you're not sure. They aren't expensive, and also great to take along when you're traveling. I'm liking the Glee too...
