I just purchased a pr of coach high top sneakers. I think they are soooo cute! I go to the gym 3 days a week, and plan to wear them for working out. Very comfortable!

Do you folks think they are stylish of dorky? I may end up wearing them with jeans out and about. Being in Arizona it's a little too warm still, but when the weather cools.

Do any of you wear high tops? I haven't seen anyone around here wearing them, but again...it's still awfully warm here.

I like them, they look nice with narrow leg pants or skinny jeans.

I don't think it's an athletic shoe as far as working out goes though, you might want to get a better padded and supportive shoe geared to working out.

I associate hi-tops with skate boarders and teen boys. They aren't athletic, so I wouldn't wear them to a gym, but if you are a label person I would stick with wearing them with a longer pair of jeans.

Truthfully, that cat door was a source of amusement for all the trades that worked on it. I'll never forget the great, hulking foreman of the drywall crew making it his own personal responsibility to properly mud the bullnose edges of what he smilingly described as the "little kitty-cat door". The finish carpenter - bless his heart - took the time to painstakingly route the custom arch out of a piece of MDF and fit the base and shoe to it. The painters treated it with the same care and detail as every other bit of trim - giggling all the while. The space inside is not large - only a square foot or so - so the vacuum wand works dandy. There is another proper catflap set 90 degrees to the decorative doorway that then goes into a small 'catroom' where I can keep the food dishes and dirtbox. Doing the doorway in the wall like that was much easier and cleaner than trying to put the catflap in the 'people' door. As for the builder - since I was the designer/owner/GC/foreman/gofer and chief ditch-digger I pretty much got what I wanted - eventually.

I'm not sure - but I'll list them and see: 2 pair basic pumps for work (black/navy) 1 pair black loafers (work/casual summer) 2 pair black ankle boots (work/asual winter) 1 pair knee-high snow boots 2 pair dress flats (silver/brown) 2 pair "dressy" heels (black/cream) 1 pair tennis shoes 1 pair yard loafers 1 pair flip flops for summer 1 pair black vinyl knee length heeled platform boots (for Halloween type dress up) 14 total, looks like. I'm okay with that - the "dressy" heels and flats I hardly ever wear, but I do need to keep them for those rare occasions I need a nice shoe in a specific color for a holiday party or some random event. I never wear the navy pumps, so those could probably go, but it's nice to have the option should I want it, and they're in good shape. I wear the heels out on a pair of pumps and ankle boots every year (due to daily wear, I'm sure), so I generally buy a new pair once per year, toss the old ones. This year I might see if I can just have them re-heeled though...

If that's some sort of cheap pot metal shoe, I'd put a 50 grit on a belt sander, tip it on its side on a bench, set the trigger, grind the shoe sides down until they fit into a 1 1/4" test piece, then repaint. That or tack a straightedge onto the bottom rail and run a laminate trimmer with a 1/4" straight cutter down the dado making it a 1/16" wider or so. No need to do each side; you'll never see the difference.

mitchdesj, you are absolutely right about the excercize. I'm sticking with my sketchers for that. I do like the high tops tho...just for everyday.

gogwmos, I'm not really a *label* person, but these are so cute. definitely to be worn with jeans...not capris or anything above the ankle.

i think: "you looks cool when you wear a pair of high tops". mitchdesj's suggestion for mixing them are reasonable and you can try. i see some wear like that

Yup...I've decided they are very cool ( uptown...ya know )
I got another pair , silver with zippers up the back, to wear for working out. I even wear them with shorts..Love them!!
