Comments (27)Yes North53--- they think they have to be very careful with the roots but if the roots have started to go round and round they will contimue to do so after it is put in the soil. Even if you break the odd one it is better than leaving them in a ball. The best thing you can do for any plant annual or perennial is to gently loosen the roots before you plant. Anyone who doesn't believe this try an experament this fall pull a plant who's root you haven't loosened. I guarantee it will still be in a ball....See MoreI'd be embarrassed to list this house
Comments (50)Elpaso1, I live in Central Texas and it's something I've heard. I'm not a regular reader of this particular news outlet, but their article (linked below) speaks to what I've heard. I don't have first hand knowledge and apologize for not stating that to begin with. "While local politicians from San Diego to El Paso to the Rio Grande Valley routinely claim that their crime statistics are continuously low, in reality those statistics don’t account for federal crimes that took place in their city such as kidnappings, drug trafficking and other spillover crimes. The “safe” statistics are based off an outdated 1930’s model called UCR (Uniform Crime Report) that the FBI is trying to push out of operation because of the many holes it has." Why Claims of a ‘Safe Border’ are Wrong and Deceptive...See MoreEmbarrassing trip to bakery, thanks, Google Maps
Comments (24)Good! A nice neutral color that highlights the product not detracts. My table cloths were a muted soft green - the baked goods looked special because they were all tan/gold/brown/white/cream (no artificial colors). Some of the produce vendors used vivid red/orange/yellow flowers, blue and purple veggie patterns, or abstracts for their cloths and the real fruits and veggies got so very lost on them (personally gave me a headache looking at them). I took photos then photo-shopped them to show the difference between using patterns and solids. Got several jobs making cloths though some still insisted on bright reds and golds where I thought they should be color of earth - brown, tan, green, or even white or black, to highlight the vivid colors of the fresh veggies, and several thought I was crazy. Whatever. At the end of the season meeting several commented on how much more they sold and my Mkt Mgr suggested that it was because of the cloth colors, showing tabulated season sales to the new cloths relatively. That was a very nice complement and unbidden. I hope your bakery appreciates your beautiful work....See MoreEmbarrassing first date
Comments (10)That's a great story! I have one, but it wasn't me doing the peeing. To get from my house to town, I have to drive on a dirt/gravel road for a distance of about two miles. No one uses the road except the people who live along it and the occasional looky loo (but that's another story). One day, I was on my way to work and as I came upon the last blind corner before the road ends at the highway, I encountered a large semi truck. Standing next to the truck with his back to me was the driver blissfully emptying his bladder. The truck was running and he could not hear my car over his engine noise. His truck was blocking the narrow dirt road, which is only wide enough for one vehicle at a time, so all I could do was sit in my car and wait...and watch. Although, I did try not to watch, but one can only look up at the sky for so long. He must have really had a full bladder because it took like what seemed forever for him to finish. Finally he was done and as he was tucking himself back into his pants and zipping up, he turned around to see me and my car sitting there. He literally jumped a foot off the ground, turned a gazillion shades of red, gave me sheepish wave and grin and hopped back in his truck. I grinned back and shrugged my shoulders as if to say, "when ya gotta go, ya gotta go." As he drove away in his semi, I couldn't help but think that he'd be a lot more careful next time he had to pee in public, although to be fair, it did look like a fairly unused road and it is. He just had terrible timing that morning....See Moreaaaaaaaa
