LOL sleep tight pixie, i'm watching my two fight about how they are gonna hit each other with their bare fists and everything in the house over one spot in the house. 6 years age diff between them two, she'll win!! we know this!! till mom brings out the paddle! ruth I am wearing the first ones I ever got which were from the Junior League Thrift Store, they are going on ten years old. I finally broke down and bought a new pair at JC Penny's last summer but I noticed the fabric is a bit thinner these days. The first pair are a little faded but are still like iron pants with no holes or snags and the stretch is still good, thats quality. After discovering how cool they keep you I've never worn anything else since in the garden, to tell the truth I live in spandex pants most of the time being totally spoiled by comfort. Speedo brand swimmers thongs or ones similar really have a good grip on the soles so they stay on your feet and never slip while walking because thats what they are made for, not slipping when wet. They also make handy bug swatters. Take it off, slap and its dead. Thank you catkin, we actually saw some sun this morning. I trimmed some stuff way back and then it started raining again but less than yesterday. I've gotten a lot of painting and patching I'd been putting off done indoors though, a work indoors weekend for sure.

My main concern (which I stated in my original post) is that the jewelry (especially rings) will tear the dough and therefore not be practical - mixing meatloaf while wearing rings is a different story and merely requires a bit more washing up afterwards. But I also do not like to see people getting nice clothes dirty, when it is so easy to put on an apron to protect them. I put on aprons to protect even the most casual clothes that I wear when cooking, but then I particularly like aprons. I've tried wearing gloves and just feel clumsy when I do. When chopping hot chilies (and I frequently chop Habanero and Scotch Bonnet chilies), I pour olive oil on the fingers of my left hand, which I use to hold the chilies, and then I wash that hand with a lot of soap after putting the chilies into the recipe. If I am making hot sauce and will be using a lot of chilies, then I will wear gloves - and also a swim mask and snorkel, to avoid breathing the fumes and also turn on the vent or a fan to blow the fumes out of a window. Since my stove vent only recirculates air, I'm not sure how good it would be at removing chili fumes.

I like this thread. One can't just constantly think (or well I can, unfortunately, but I really want to think of something else for a change) of life and death. I remember being at a baby shower. Last year. One older lady, a friend of the mother in law of my acquiantance who invited me, she was on the bigger side..probably in her late sixties, i wouldn't know? She was very boldly dressed, with tight sleeveess top, and some huge flower in her hair, and..I don't know, she behaved like a beautiful woman who doesn't give a damn she's not 20 or 30 anymore, so I looked at her with sort of fascnation, I never thought "I'd tone it down if I were you"-I thought "how cool is it, to be so full of life" (great I'm at life thing again. lol). she didn't look like she was trying too hard to be young. She just looked natural. It takes a certain person to pull it off I suppose. Another thing that comes to mind. Several years ago I went to do my volunteering then to the gym that was in the same building, then to the big outdoor pool. And I was tired and exausted by that time, I started feeling not well. So at some point I just put myself down o one of these chaise longs. And everything was spinning a bit, I was waiting until I get better and can leave. And there were several men in the pool..they kinda were looking at me, because it was a day time, and not a lot to look at:) At other time, I might become very conscious. But then, I really didn't care. I remember because a thought then crossed my mind "There's certain bliss in this state, of feeling out of it, being in other dimension, not caring at all" I realize I described two really different types of not caring..:) I prefer first of course But there is strange freedom in both I do care, well, most of the time. Depending on a day, on a mood, etc. And it's changing so fast-or maybe time goes faster now too. One needs to be really fast in adjusting himself to things. It's not very easy. Then I remember I was so sensitive about my stretch marks when I was 23-and it's funny to me now. Took me a year, they faded, and I didn't care anymore. How many years will take me know? I don't know. My friends would answer me" doesn't matter how many years. dear-all of them years are yours".
