Tooth whitening for summer...

I've been using gosmile and it helped to whiten about 4 shades, then I saw people on the health forum say that the pro-dental crest supreme strips are 80% stronger than the store bought brands. Gosmile is 6% and the cws pro-dental supreme are 14%.

The gals were saying that if you are really sensitive to just go with gosmile, but if you aren't and want really white teeth, to use a two week supply of the cws supreme.

You have to get them through a dentist but the site that is most recommended on the other forum was dentalwhitestrips.com They also have a combo pack where you can whiten with the strips and then maintain with gosmile. It seems to be the best price I've found. Let me know if anyone sees this combo pack anywhere else.

I've been using the Nite White system and love it. You get the dental mouth bleaching trays from your dentist after they make a mold of your teeth. The bleaching gel comes in 10%, 16% and 22%.

To help decrease the sensitvity, be sure to use a good floride tooth gel. You can even put the gel in the bleaching trays and wear it for an hour. Helps 100%.
The problem that I see with bleaching strips is that they don't really get in all the spaces (especially between teeth) as the gel does.

I just checked out the Gosmile site. It seems to me that once you apply the solution to the teeth, there is nothing to keep it in place to do it's job. It will just get washed away from the normal saliva, ect.

Jannie, I had my top 6 teeth bonded 18 yrs ago, to correct gaps, etc. Back then they didn't offer the types of teeth bleaching that we have today. My bonding is now dull and not as white as my other teeth, now. I have been using the Night White systen from my dentist for several months (off and on). My bonded teeth did get alittle lighter, probably got rid of the coffee/coke stains. They are still yellower than my other whitened teeth. I want to replace them with porcelin veneers but that will cost abot $5000. I've informed my husband that as soon as one of theses bondings chips or cracks then I will replace them with the veneers (sooner I hope).

If you need another method for lightening teeth, here's one I did yesterday.....I zoomed in VERY close to the mouth in question; used the freehand selection tool to select JUST the teeth; promoted that selection to a layer; then played with the hue/saturation/lightness levels to get them looking white but natural; then I deselected, and used the soften tool around the edges. Finally, to redefine the tooth edges I used the push tool set on 1 just to push a bit of the white layer around to reshape the teeth. That step is optional. Another optional step is to adjust the opacity of the tooth layer just a tidbit. Then merge layers, & save.

When your dentist cleans your teeth the stains will go away. They are not stains in the enamel just in the tartar build up. When I started drinking coffee I thought my teeth were staining from the coffee. He explained it was staining the tartar. After that I started paying more attention to how I brushed my teeth. Reports are already coming in that the expensive whiteners are thinning the enamel. Teeth might stain if the enamel gets to thin.

The first time I had the dentist make the trays and bought Opalescence from him also. I think it was about 200.00 maybe for the trays and whitener... then I found the Opalescence on Amazon for a fraction of the price the dentist sells it for. Once you whiten them you just use it occasionally to keep them white. It helps with the sensitivity if you don't leave them in for a long time and it's not really necessary, 30-45 minutes Is plenty of time. Opalescence comes in a couple different strengths so if you tend to have sensitive teeth buy the milder strength. Be sure to store the unused whitener in the refrigerator. Perhaps you could get a dentist to just make the trays and not buy the whitener from him, just order it off the internet. also remember, it just takes a drop of the whitener, don't just load the tray up, it would be a waste and could cause gum irritation. I squirt out a small amount on the bottom front part of each tooth in the tray, when you put the tray in the whitener will spread onto the surface of your teeth.

I ordered a second round and did much better when I dried my teeth off first. They have a new b1 advanced tooth whitener that bonds to the teeth as they whiten, so you get up to 10 shades whiter. Ebay has the best deals or www.eyezonit.com

Actually gosmile will naturally whiten veneers to as white as they were when you first had them done.

Ebay has a jumbo kit great deal!
