Hi Repol! I am 5'2" and looking to lose 20 pounds. I started back onto my health journey with my friend and we keep in touch to buddy up. I'll be your buddy here - and anyone else who wants to join us - and help you along. I too want to get down to the same weight goal. And I'm at the same weight as you - how much better can it get for seeking a diet buddy, eh? For those of you who are lurking - yes there used to be a huge following here years ago. And we used to keep a weekly thread going for any type of dieter to join. Someone suggested they do a FB page and the entire group left. Since then it's been dead on here. Gooooooooooooood Halloween day to all! I've been up since early and on the go. Our community center had their first ever "Boo Bash" fun-/fundraiser today, and it was a howling success! As the ways & means chairman, I was delighted with the turnout of people and kids dressed up in costumes and spending lots of time and money enjoying themselves! :0 I did a lot of fun Christmas shopping there for those little fun items that are 'extras' that nobody asks for or expects, but that always find a home happily. I also bought a couple of hand-painted items to continue decorating our house. I had a small serving of Frito pie and a diet Dr.Pepper when I finished my shift of tattooing kiddos. Donna, how nice to see you posting, but how frustrating for you with the delay. Maddie, enjoy the musical! Hope Dee's having fun on her vacation. Suzanne, hope you're enjoying your last sunny evening until next spring. Jan, I'd love a bowl of gumbo about now, TYVM! Raeanne, come back and post more - you're missed! LOL I have a turkey roasting in the oven for our dinner. I decided to change up tradition from chili this year. I also needed to bake this one so that I can start taking advantage of the wonderful turkey sales starting up next week. We love turkey all year 'round. When I was growing up, the ONLY time my mom cooked a turkey was at Thanksgiving, so it still seems a little strange to me to cook one 'just because'. Hello Pastapup or anyone...! I note pp that you seem to be educated on the above bhrt and was wondering if this is what you take? I'm considering starting Vivelle Dot and Prometrium cyclically (i've been researching for awhile).. I'm 4 years post meno and early at that.. having my last period at age 44 now 48.. toughed out all the usual suspect symtoms but now 3-4 years into post meno... I've started bad v atrophy, bone loss, bladder issues, libido loss, brain fog..etc. I was just hoping to get some insigh into dosage and maybe what to expect in the first few months.. I have a gyni who is pretty good but she is not a supporter of cyclic method... (getting a period) and yet alot of what I have researched said this is the best way.. Anyway, I noticed your post was this year and thought you might still be around.. as many of the posts I have read are much older... thankyou.

I finished The Help a couple of weeks ago for our April book club meeting and last week read The Glass Castle which is our May book club selection. I've also read Half Broke Horses which is the second novel of the author of The Glass Castle, Jeannette Walls. Of the two books, I enjoyed Half Broke Horses more. I hated that it ended. Another book that I read in between and is non-fiction was Escape (I can't remember the authors name) but it's a very haunting and upsetting true story to me but I won't get into the main subject here for fear of dicing someone else's culture or life. Aunt Audrey, I've read all of Anne George's books and throughly enjoyed each one. They're very entertaining and great light reading. She was from Birmingham and sadly she passed away a few years ago during heart surgery. Many of the places that she mentioned in her books, I recognized, so I felt a real connection.
