This has been one of the most helpful threads on clothes that I have ever ever read. I just went through my closet yesterday, because I've been "out of action" and then away for so long, that I'd lost track of what I had. Also, we are now going from cool weather into our hot season, so I was ready to change things over. Well, I thought I was doing well yesterday when I filled a grocery bag with items I simply didn't like anymore. Now, after reading on here, I am going back in there, to pull out the two linen shirts I kept, because they are simply great shirts. I haven't worn either of them for 2 years, but they are classics, and so I thought I'd hang onto them, for that skirt that I might find that might just be perfect with them. Now I realise that there are a lot more "mights" to factor in... They might be out of date, might not fit, might just be a waste of space, might, meanwhile be useful to someone else, might be tired of hanging around for the skirt that I "might" find. They're out of here....gone! And the more posts I read on here the more things are going out. I think too, that as we get older, it's not variety we need, but what suits our shapes and lifestyles and age. When you're glowing with youth and vitality, can any clothing be a "mistake"? I have 3 slim lovely DILs in their 20s, and my son's GF is a beautiful 18 year old. They can throw on a hessian bag or a silk sheath and look stunning. They don't bulge, sag, wobble, spread or fade. I'm learning that it's no longer a matter of liking an item of clothing in the shop. It really has to like me. Sometimes I've thought it would be nice to just find something I like and know it'll look good, rather than having to search and wait to find the "just right" piece. On the other hand, when we're older, we can relax about "trends" and "fads" and get away with just a few good pieces. When I was younger, I remember avoiding stuff that made me look like my mother. Now I am my mother, and it's rather nice to go "classic" at last. I find that I now have clothes that seem to be able to go "anywhere", by just dressing them up or down. Put on black stockings and court shoes and a lace top with that simple black skirt and it's ok for a night wedding. Throw on some sandals and a T-shirt, and I can wear it to a beach party. Not quite that simple, but something like that anyway. We recently had a 92 year old lady visit us, and she looked like a queen. She was wearing the softest pale pink fluffy cashmere sweater with a classic blazer, and a floaty skirt. She looked a million dollars and I decided I wanted that look when I'm an old lady. It was comfortable, and yet so dressy. So I've already planned my old age look (LOL). But I realised when I was studying her outfit, that she could have worn it anywhere, at her age, and fitted right in. She wouldn't need anything else to wear outside the house. Hi neighbor, I know how you feel. I was a nervous wreck after I signed also. My emotions went up and down like a roller coaster throughout the building process. At times I felt so stressed I couldn't even visit this forum because I didn't want to have anymore "pool" on my mind. However, much of my headaches and stress were from the fact that I didn't know anything about pools, or contract signing. What I knew about pools then was what my neighbor had and I want one similar to it and also what the salesman told me I should have. Not the best way to "buy" a purchase this big! Nevertheless, you've been on this forum for quite some time now. You've done your research so you have much more knowledge than many of us when we signed our contracts. To that, I say don't worry because you are a "knowledgeable" buyer. Just remember to follow up all communications in writing via emails. You will always remember what you tell them but they won't because they deal with many customers. So if it ever comes down to the "he said, she said" the customer almost always lose. Lastly, don't expect everything to go smoothly--it'll be a bonus if it does; however, believe that everything will work out just fine. Best wishes on your build.

Stopped into a Marshall's on my way to the library today. I hadn't even know it was there. Went through EVERYTHING because I didn't want to miss something. My conclusions: everything commonly available in cotton is either white or blue. Wait! There's a third color! White with blue stripes. I don't normally wear either color. This has been true in every store I've visited, not just Marshall's. I did end up buying a white linen shirt with embroidery at the neckline. It was only $10 on clearance (slightly damaged, but I can fix it easily) . I will wear it a few times and see if I can stand to wear a color that will be filthy by the end of the first day. I can always tea dye it. Probably will. Marshalls had, it seemed, almost everything on clearance. Must be between seasons. But henceforth I will think of that store as the Home of Rayon. I'm sure I would not have noticed that before, if I hadn't been ferreting inside every shirt for the fiber content tag. Wait Wait! I did buy some all-cotton shorty pajamas. They are blue and white. Striped. But I don't have to choose jewelry to match them, and I won't worry about them making my skin look green while I am sleeping. Then I stopped off at a Talbots (which I also didn't know was there) and bought the shirt Lucy mentioned above. The cut is very flattering, with a yoke front and back. The nicest cut of anything I've found so far. Tassel-Tie Chambray Popover Shirt Which is blue. With white embroidery. I asked them to help me find anything else in a sleeveless natural fiber. I was the only one in there, so the 2 staff ladies quite got into the challenge. I tried on the 4 other items, 3 of which were blue, white, or blue and white. The remaining shirt was white with orange embroidery. Sigh. I didn't buy anything else. So far I have not bought anything in any other color. But the Nordstrom order arrives tomorrow.

Update on the short sleeve Unigio v neck T shirt (men's but for me). Not completly not see through. I would say better or same of "good" medium quality but not near high quality. Very very good for $9.90. I ordered one in medium and one in small. Here is the shirt. I put this inside to see how much showed up. You can see the blue and a bit of each neighboring color. Its hard to tell by looking but if comparing with a cheap women's T it is thicker fabric. It might be thicker than most women's medium quality these days. For the price I thought I would give it a shot. I also ordered this $20 Gap t for my husband. This is very close to twice as see through/thinner. The next test will be washing and drying to check for shrinkage. The medium before wash/dry is very close to an 8 in women's. Small close to a 6 in womens. This particular t is slimmer for a man. for a woman it's relaxed but not boxy. Not form fitting. So, depending on how it fairs after a wash & dry I would say it's a very good buy with lots of colors. $9.90! This brand has a few styles in T's but I picked this one because it had slimmer sleeves. ETA: Washed and dried well. Although some reviews mentioned shrinkage, if there was it was very minimal and not noticeable to me. I ordered more in other colors.
