Anyone had an Eyerow wax done?

There are several salons near me that do eyebrow waxing,. I'm curious but know nothing about it. Does it hurt? Goes the finished eyebrow really look that good? How often must it be re-done? I used to pluck my eyebrows and they got a lot thinner than when I was younger.

I get my brows done on occasion. The pain doesn't bother me; but I have a high threadshold, so who knows. I think the finished product does usually look great (makes you seemed more groomed in a way) -- if they don't over pluck and know what they're doing. They only fall back I see is that every time you wax, you risk that some of the hair may not grow back and as you're aging you may want all the hair/brows you can get. Some people think big brow arching ages people (and that fuller brows appear more youthful), but I really think arching usually provides a little bit of an eye lift effect and maybe even makes you look a more youthful. Unless you're very sensitive to pain, I'd give it a try and see if you like it.

I have mine done occasionally too. After it's done, I pluck when I see new hairs growing. After a few months, I get them waxed again. It stings for a second, but you do get used to it. Some people have very thin brows, so even after a waxing, some have to fill them in with an eyebrow pencil. I do think it makes the brows look better. Another thing I started doing is using a small scissor to cut the brows that grow long, just to keep them clean and neat. It makes a big difference.

I've had it done several times, mostly for shaping, since I usually tweeze. It does sting a little when they pull the strip off, but not much. I find it to be worth the money to do occasionally.

I have mine waxed regularly, since my eysight isn't great for tweezing anymore! The lady who does them also trims them with a scissors, as debi mentioned. My brows look great after waxing; the only downside is that you should wait at least three weeks to get it done again, and during that time (for me at least) my hair almost all grows back. I've read horror stories about people who wax their brows and they never grow back or grow back thinner; but in my case I guess I'm just unlucky!
