eyeliner search

I used to use jet black eyeliner, but find as I age, that black is just too harsh. I most often use brown now, but also like navy, teal, and dark green. I discovered a brown powdered liner that I moisten and put on with a brush (or maybe it's a shadow, but it works as liner for me) made by JANE that I really like. But I'm looking for a hunter or forest green liner and I just can't seem to find it. I like liquid liners too, but the greens that I have found are sparkly/frosty. I want something flat/matte. I've even resorted to buying shadows and wetting my liner brush and trying to use them as liners. But on most of them the water just beads up. I can't use a powdered shadow dry though. After about 30 minutes my eyes get very red and puff up. Even though I dust off any excess, I think residual powder finds its way to my eyes.

Sorry this is so long. Anyway, have any of you come across either a powder or liquid liner in a dark green, no frost? I appreciate any help you can give me.

I use liner pencils, and I find that in order to get the true color, you have to sharpen them before every use, then you can smudge it slightly if it's too dark; I find them easy to use, I experiment with different brands, low end to high end ; cover girl is greasy enough yet has staying power.

Thanks, but I've tried pencils, and have never been happy with them. I don't want to smudge. I don't like the greasy feeling. Apparently my skin is oily enough that the line disappears by the end of the day.

I use a thin angled eyeshadow brush which I dampen and use to make a paste of brown eyeshadow and apply that. It is softer than a waxy pencil type line and stays put better than a pencil line does too. I have the same oily skin issues as above.

Laura Mercier makes a beautiful dark green liner. Definitely ask the makeup salesperson to show you their method of applying liner, it's hard to explain but really easy to do.

Terilyn, I went to the Laura Mercier website, but couldn't find any liner in green. I've never heard of this line before. Do you know what stores it is sold in?

I found a great eyeliner called "Flatliner" in Bed Bath and Beyond. It goes on easily, looks great. I got it in brown, I think they had black, green and blue, also. Good luck!

Jannie, thanks! I can't find it on their website, but I'll definitely go into the store and check it out.

Donna, try Neiman Marcus or Saks, maybe Nordstom. I got mine at Neimans, it's called "Emerald Green." If you don't have one near you let me know, I'm going Tuesday, I'd be happy to look for you and send it.

i have used a cake liner by trish mcevoy that was good, not sure what colors they have. also, i bought some liquid liner by wet n wild for a dollar at the drugstore. i cannot believe how well this stuff lasts! i think it is called megaliner, again not sure of all the colors. i live in a hot humid are and have really heavy brows or droopy lids or something so eyeliner always smudges but not with the wet n wild. good luck.

Thanks to all of you gals for your suggestions. Jannie, I was not able to find the flatliner at the BB&B near me, but I will check others when I'm near them. Lesdear, I am really tempted by the cake liner by Trish Mcevoy, although I'm not crazy about the $18 price tag. Same with the Laura Mercier - that one is $25. I haven't looked yet for the Wet & Wild Megaliner, but I'm certainly going to have a look for it. I did find two liquid green liners on ebay. Two different brands, and although they are frosted, they are dark enough that this blind old lady doesn't see the frost when it's on my lids.

Again, thank you for all your suggestions. I'm a happy camper.
