I've been using Maybelline eye makeup remover. It's a little oily, but I wash my face afterwards and it does a good job getting the mascara off. I really like Mary Kay extremely gentle eye makeup remover a LOT better- not oily at all- but I lost my MK rep and need a new one, hence the Maybelline.

Phyllis, I used to use Mattique and I liked it for the coverage and the matte look. I did find that at the end of the day, I think the color turned a bit orangey. Nowadays, my skin is older (how did that happen, lol) and I find a more moist look is better - I look pretty dead with too much matte! I use L'Oreal Visible Coverage (recommended by a forum friend here, by the way) and it provides pretty good coverage which I need for blotches. I know you're much younger than me, lucky girl!

Yes, I have used it for awhile now. I was looking for something cheaper than Bare Escentuals, which I like. The L'Oreal is nice, but not as good as the BE. They had a 2 for 1 introductory offer. It's not milled as finely as BE and is not as shiney. I have a nice kaubki brush that I use to apply it. I gave one jar to my sister who did not like the color of the BE on her, too yellow. The L'Oreal has a nice lighter color that is not a yellowish tint. Try it and see what you think. As I said, I did not use their brush for application.

Jasdip Not an eyewash in the sense that you would flush your eyes with it. I should have said eyelid scrub. The procedure is to dilute a few drops of Baby Shampoo with warm water and do a light scrub of the inner rim of the eye with a cotton swap or pad. I found it got rid of all make-up residue so I just wet my fingertips and use a few drops of baby shampoo for removing my make-up just as you would any water soluble eye makeup remover. The link explains it if you scroll down to the bottom of the page and read the self care procedure. You are correct about oils around the eye.
