looking for jeans in small sizes

I am looking for help in finding brands/stores that carry size 3,4,5 jeans. I cannot seem to find anything smaller than a size 6 anymore.Lee and Chic fit me well, but they inform me that they have stopped production of the smaller sizes.I have a 26" waist and a 35" hip.If you have similar measurements, can you help me? I know Levis come small, but they look horrible on me. I am a perfect size 14 in the little kids department, but the styles don't suit a woman in her 40's! Also, has anyone tried the Lands End custom jeans? If they don't fit, can you return them?

The only pair of jeans that have ever fit me have been my 24-inch Guess. I think they size "by waist" and they are the "24". They are the low-rise waist.

They are the boot-cut kind, not my favorite because I'm not a 17 year old or a hippie. But that is all I can find.

They fit like a dream!

I'm 36/24/36. A little different from you but still, petite.

Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Guess. Go to Jr. dept., I found more petite sizes there. Check out Banana Republic too.

Thank goodness for this thread! We have just reached the framing stage for the main level master suite that we are adding to our vintage home, and I was having a bit of a panic about how small everything looks. I was trying to keep it to myself so as to not stress out my husband, but today, he came clean about being nervous about the size himself. We are building this so that we can age in place in a home we love, but whose current master is up a set of steep narrow stairs - so it's an important project for us. I've been laying awake at night with anxiety about how small everything seems. Intellectually, I knew it didn't make sense since it's a 1000 square foot bedroom/bathroom/closet, but all I could think about was 'What have we done?' Fortunately, I had a vague recollection of hearing about the optical illusion of smallness during framing, so did a quick search, and here you are! Thank you, everyone, for putting my mind at ease!

Wow you guys rock!!! Ok I'm being somewhat lazy on the sewing thing now (yes I can do it but I have to finish this house before we move in the fall so I haven't gotten to it). I figure in the future I'll be able to fix his jeans myself (thanks for the ideas....I was going to search that later LOL) but sheesh, just from this group of posts I found six pairs of jeans :) I bought the Calvins and the Wranglers, and am working on the rest :) Old Navy and Gap are unfortunately too big even cinched up on the last button hole of the adjustable waists. Lisa my husband caught this thread right at the big butt comment...we lost our drinks :oP The man-pries was a good one too LOL We'll start a new fashion :) I have to admit, I hate draw string pants and sweats. I know someday I'll have to give in to his wishes for comfort, but until he whines, I want a more tailored look...they look so much better with his collection of knit golf vests (he'll kill me for telling anyone about that when he's older LOL) I've had great luck at a place called "Once Upon A Child" which sells used baby cloths. I haunt the rack for anything by Polo (they fit skinny kids really well) but as he gets bigger (ok taller) I ssee less and less of them. Ok back to my wine as I shop :) Really thanks all for the fabulous ideas :) You rock!!

Looking for drought tolerant trees with small mature size

First, a small tree is considered to be 20-35' tall. Widen your search to medium-to-large shrubs, as they are more appropriately sized. Pittosporum 'Marjorie Channon', for example, can be limbed up into a lovely somewhat airy small tree of 12' or so. Avocados can be cut back really, really hard, and they grow back and do fine. The growers come through their fields with these huge motorized cutting machines, like a windmill set horizontal, and mow their avocados down to a reasonable height every few years. A good hard trim by a trained arborist could make your sister's life a little easier.

Thanks for the responses. The bathroom is roughly 40" wide from wall to wall. I was measuring and think my current toilet only extends to about 24", so maybe I'm doing as well as I can? Its a standard round bowl, which isn't my favorite, but oh well. Appreciate the ideas!

I haven't tried them, but yes, Lands End will take them back if they don't fit.

I've done well at 'Express' they usually carry lots of 2s and smaller odd sizes as well.

Gap has small sizes also and a nice variety.... try to find a salesperson who knows the stock well....

Clothestime! Really. You'll find small size fashionable and cheap jeans there. I don't think they carry Levi's though. Also the Gap, Guess and Old Navy. I like the Gap because they also offer different lengths. And if you're petite, or have a short waist like me, the newer lower-waist styles fit better.

I don't know if you have a Western shop around you, but I have been getting jeans by Cruel in size 3, slim fit, short length. They fit well and are not the low rise kind. I bought them for riding but now wear them all the time. My shop will even order in the short length for me. I know what you mean about the current styles not feeling right for us "mature" women. I'm just glad I'm not trying to dress a daughter these days. It would be nothing but a battle of wills. Do you have small feet as well? Its just as hard to find small shoe sizes too. Good luck,,,LL

Go to a store that specializes in juniors too. My size 0 to size 2 daughter finds things at Wet Seal if she looks carefully and stays away from that trashy look. She also finds some 0s at Banana Republic. Old Navy has nice jeans.
