Eyeliner that will not smear? Have oily skin

Is there any other poster that has oily eye lids? I used to use L'Oreal liquid eyeliner. Passe, I know, but it did not smear. Now I can't find anything that won't leave a mirror image on my upper eyelid. UGH So I've stopped wearing eyeliner entirely, but I miss it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I've tried everything like you and found the best results using a method my friend taught me in college (20 yrs. ago, yikes!): dampen a flat (1/4" wide) rounded tip brish and swipe, like a painter on a palette, eyeshadow (bobbi brown is best for this) and apply sideways to get a fine line, not on the flat 1/4" side--does this make sense? liquid eyeliner is so stark and 50's looking and this way is very natural and contemporary. the effect is also slightly smudged, in a desirable way. it should last you at least half the day, then freshen up for the evening. good luck!

I am using Urban Decay's waterproof liner pencil, it stays.........

Thanks to all of you gals for your suggestions. Jannie, I was not able to find the flatliner at the BB&B near me, but I will check others when I'm near them. Lesdear, I am really tempted by the cake liner by Trish Mcevoy, although I'm not crazy about the $18 price tag. Same with the Laura Mercier - that one is $25. I haven't looked yet for the Wet & Wild Megaliner, but I'm certainly going to have a look for it. I did find two liquid green liners on ebay. Two different brands, and although they are frosted, they are dark enough that this blind old lady doesn't see the frost when it's on my lids. Again, thank you for all your suggestions. I'm a happy camper.

Thank you all so very much for all of these suggestions! You've given me quite a few things to look into. I am a "member" of Makeupalley.com, so I'll definitely be checking out the products mentioned here to see if I can get even more info on them. I never use moisturizing eye creams, because they only exacerbate my oilslick issues. I guess I'd rather have this problem than extremely dry skin, but sometimes it just feels like a curse when what I put on my face in the morning has slid right off (or into the wrong places) by lunchtime. I don't think I'd ever go the route of permanent eyeliner though. My tattoos are in places where sagging isn't going to be a major problem (or if I do get saggy calves, I can always cover them easily!) -- but I think I'd worry too much about my eyes drooping and the permanent eyeliner being slightly out of whack over time! LOL! Oakley, I am now the proud owner of two bottles of Cashmere Mist, as well as the body lotion and I love it! I had ordered my first bottle online, and then a coworker brought in a gift set that she wanted to advertise on our company bulletin board (she received it as a gift and didn't want it) - so she let me have it for $30, which was half price. A bargain! I can see this being my signature scent for some time to come. It's very soft and fresh, without being the least bit overpowering. A friend of mine did a full lip tatoo of color..they just "up'd" her natural color.. I know a few woman with eyeliner tatoos and lip liner..but the lip girl had it done dark..so she looked hideous when wearing lip gloss! Pencil and eyeshadow liners disappear on me after a few hours..basically all that's left at the end of the day is mascara.(Alhtough I haven't tried liquid.)I pitch out my mascara about every 3 months..once it starts to drop "shadows" it's in the trash. My favorite lip stuff is Avon's Glazeware in Berry Cool. It's a neutral mauve with a bit of shimmer.

My friend, the "Makeup Queen" always has a bunch of freebies from her many visits to makeup counters. She gave me some good-sized samples of body dusting powder and I mixed one with 2-cups cornstarch. It smells the same as the EXpensive stuff at a fraction of the cost, and I think it actually works better than plain talcum powder in the summer. For a moisturizer and hand cream, I use Lou Ana brand coconut oil that I get at Wal-Mart (next to the Crisco). I also cook with it, so it's not just for one-use only. I make my own pots of lip gloss using coconut oil as the base ingredient, a little beeswax, cocoa butter, and vitamin E oil. -Grainlady

I have found putting a foundation of powder on your eyelids before and after the eyeliner helps it not to smear.

I've tried everything out there and the ONLY thing that works for me (oily skin, contacts, tightlining) is Jordana felt tip eyeliner and it's $1.99 at walgreens.

seriously, i was so happy to discover it and yet so mad that i've wasted so much money looking over the years (drugstore and high end ) and i have a whole drawer of old eyeliners that i'm now using for arts and crafts lol.

also, my HG mascara is the loreal telescopic waterproof (in silver tube with blue writing). no smudging.

of course to get all these no smudging products off is the neutrogena makeup remover (the one you have to shake before using), the generic brand of this works too.

Nolamom, I do the exact same thing. Works well and mistakes are few. Now Mascara, I can get that all over the place.

I gave up on eyeliner -- the smudging and raccoon effects. I got the courage to get my eyes and eyebrows tattooed. What a difference! I love it. I wake up looking so purdee!! I found a cosmetic tattoo salon nearby. She numbed the areas to be tattooed, so there was very little discomfort.

No more smudging -- and I don't spend any time on my makeup anymore. My husband is astounded at how fast I can ready myself to go out nowadays!
