I'm cursing this thread ;) I love nice handbags - I don't wear much jewelry or buy expensive clothes, and I'm a very practical person. But handbags ARE practical! I'm fairly conservative and like very classic bags, but also love color. Shoulder bags are my favorite. I had some old-style Coach bags when I was younger, but haven't bought anything from them in years. But, I did have my eye on an eggplant bag I saw in one of their NYC stores just before Christmas. I really, really, really want a purple bag, but don't see it on their Web site. Guess that color was so last season?! Probably a good thing because if I remember, it was over my price range anyway. Mitchdesj - Love that bag!. Some reviews have said the chain makes it heavy and that the bag doesn't hold its shape. What do you think? I don't like stiff leather anyway. I've been wanting a nice tote for day trips, and just ordered this Trina Turk bag on sale: For more moderately price bags, I like Tignanello, which I buy discounted. Just picked up these two in black at TJ Maxx for about $70 each and am trying to decide which one to keep for casual wear: Awhile ago I bought my first Dooney & Bourke. This one "spoke" to me when it popped up on one of the discount sites at an incredible price. I love the plaid: What is it about handbags??

Long day --- long story I drove to another city to meet up with a friend from California who was available today only. Along the way, I stopped at the Saks Off5th Outlet and found.....a Longchamp, soft, lamb leather handbag in black! This is similar to the nylon Pilage bags, but the interior has an inside zip pocket, an open cell phone slip pocket and a place for pens. It also rolls up and snaps. It will pack well since I use a carry-on while on board the plane. The only downside that I see to this smaller purse is that it's so incredibly soft, there's no structure to the bottom. If that bothers me, I'll cut some cardboard and stick in there. That said, it holds everything I need for it to hold, it doesn't overwhelm, it's lighter weight and packable. It was discounted to $369. Not the incredible deal of the large bag, but discounted from $495. Here's a Nordstrom link with reviews. The online Saksoff5th has some of these bags discounted. My DIL's birthday was Wednesday and I was going to bring her something back from Paris or Italy -- but, I called my son and asked him about the large bag for her meetings, etc. (I noticed when she came home for a week in Boston, her back was overstuffed). He told me I was fulfilling her number one gift wish! So, I'm taking the large bag over to her this evening. I'm off to see my grandkids and gift the other bag to my DIL! Merci mes amis!

"Looking for enablers" . . . and reeling in all of us hopeless handbag addicts, too (LOL)! Oh my gosh, there are so many seriously wonderful handbags on this thread! My handbag storage is as crammed as Spanish's, if not more! And I passed along my addiction on to my sweet DD. Her birthday is later this month and what does she want for gifts from us? More handbags! And so, I've just bought her a gorgeous rolling tote bag, and now a beautiful dress purse from Karl Lagerfeld. It was honestly very hard not to keep them both for myself! Hmmm, but my Summer bag is getting a bit shabby, so perhaps I'll take another stroll through this bad boy thread (LOL)!
