Does any one of you hear 'Elevator shoes' before ?
I found some products on this website : www.itallershoes.com

Do you think these shoes are weird?

They look high in the back, but of course they have to hide the elevated insert somewhere !!! Pants over the shoes would hide that fact.

I used to work with a small man who wore elevator shoes. The shoes were less subtle than these. He also was known to beat his wife but I don't think there is any connection between the two.

Elevator shoes have been around since the 1930's. Jokes have always been made about them. The give a man an unnatural gait and the shoes themselves look kinda weird. They even make Elevator brand, men's slippers for around the house, for the really insecure man.

Oh, Dilly! Those are funny. I suspect this is spam as the poster registered yesterday.

 o
RE: Elevator shoes? Fashion?

Yes, I agree this is probably a spam poster. Let's see if they come back with an alternate screen name and reply to their own question, saying how much they loooove the elevator shoes they found on that exact website!

I think elevator shoes are such a giggle!...All the men I have ever seen wearing them all have that "banty rooster" thing going on....the sort of straight legged strut....like no one knows they are wearing elevator shoes! LOL!!!
I know 2 very short men, shorter than their not very tall wives, and very successful at what they do.....and they sure don't wear elevator shoes!

 o
RE: Elevator shoes? Fashion?

Well, it's personal preference. I have some friends wearing this kind of shoes. They just used to that.

 o
RE: Elevator shoes? Fashion?

They are getting more popular nowsaday.

This other site I found has more selection in styles:

RE: Elevator shoes? Fashion?

is it true that all height-challenged spammers wear elevator shoes ?

 o
RE: Elevator shoes? Fashion?

Oh petaloid, I did not think they would bother to do that since you posted that we are all wise to that sort of thing, but L@@K - there are two of them, both registered the same day as their sole post touting how they love Elevator shoes. ROTFLMAO.

It is rather amusing, isn't it? ;-)

 o
RE: Elevator shoes? Fashion?

Did you chcek out that site???? They have shoes with 3.8 inch insoles LOL! Imagine hiding 4 inch risers inside a shoe and thinking "no one can tell"?? LOL
sort of reminds me of the 78 year old man with the chesnut brown toup and the scraggly grey eyebrows and side burns!
I guess that men that think they are fooling people never go to the beach....
Maybe they have elevator flipflops? LOL!!

Lincac, I love the "banty rooster" analogy you provided. I can't get the image out of my mind. We had a teacher in Jr High I swear wore those shoes. You could tell he was a smaller guy and had that weird strut.

RE: Elevator shoes? Fashion?

Everytime I see a small guy wearing elevator shoes, I always feel like sorry for them. Well maybe because us girls have some good looking heels to wear while men were left with only elevator shoes as an alternative. Even if they're wearing these shoes and the pants are covering the heels on the back, it still looks obvious because you can really tell if a guy is short just by looking at the height of their upper body.
