| I have been wearing Spring Fever cologne by Origins for years...
I have tried other scents but cannot bear to stop using it... I keep experimenting with other scents but keep coming back to this one..... What's your all time favorite ?? |

| Colors de Benneton (sp)? is my favorite, it's old, been around forever. It's youthful and fun and has a sort of spicy scent. I don't wear it daily however. Usually I just don't wear perfume. My daughter started wearing Skin by Bonne Bell, a musk smell... sweet and powdery, she was 14 when she started and although it's an inexpensive drug store scent, it suits her to a T, and is very pleasant on her..... She is 23 now and I order 6 bottles for her every september before her birthday, Bonne Bell ships to Canada directly. It's not available here anymore so I pick some up for her when we go to Florida.... She has tried more expensive perfumes but always returns to this one. |

| Chanel #5 for "fancy", and Jontue or Gloria Vanderbilt for everyday!!! I got "Dazzling Gold" (Estee Lauder)for Christmas and I have used it a few times....it's kind of strong, but smells good. |

| Darkeyedgirl, I believe Colors Benetton is discontinued, but you still can find them at some stores and websites. Kira, so little $$$ for so many perfumes to have. My perfume wish list is loooong. Mitchdesj, this BB Skin Musk is very nice, I like it too. Did you get the oil or the spray? I've the oil. Keli, what happened with Opium? Is the perfume turned bad in the bottle or turned bad on your body? |

| I think my body chemistry changed after I had my son 12 years ago. Either that or my sense of smell changed. Either way, I love the scent on others, but when I try it on it only smells good for about 15 minutes, then starts to smell like b.o. It doesn't seem to matter whether I try cologne or perfume or body lotion, they all eventually smell "bad". Keli |

| Keli -- I know how u feel!! I used always to wear Knowing by Estee Lauder, but once I got into my late teens, it started to smell awful on me!! I still smell it now on others, and it smells so good, but on me, it's just horrible... One thing I have found though is that it is worth investing in body cream and bath lotion in the same fragrance. 'Layering' the smell seems to make it last loads longer. Wish list wise, I would like to buy Agent Provocateur's scent and Helmut Lang for women. Soon. Hopefully, lol. Ed x |

| I like Le Dix by Balenciaga but I cannot find it in perfume. The cologne loses its scent too fast. I also like Jones New York and my favorite old standby Chanel #5. Only problem with the Chanel is that DH's deceased wife wore it and I don't want to remind him of her. |

| Beverley, a good perfume beautician should be able to guide you towards a scent that has the notes you like in the #5 but would be different enough to be unique to you, I don't blame you to want your own special perfume.... Edith, I agree with the layering the scent principle, as opposed to using the stronger version of some perfumes, it is more subtle and long lasting..... your skin releases a delicate scent as the day wears on..... |

| So many good smells! One of my favorites is Amarige by Givenchy. I bought this at the Munich Airport while we were on our honeymoon. I think it smells like heaven in a bottle! I also think I have a 'knock-off' of Chanel #5; I should dig it out. Sometimes my MIL wears it and it smells so good when she walks by. I also remember #19 smelling good, too. Other faves include just about everything by Estee Lauder: Estee, which is heavier and always makes me sneeze when I put it on, but smells great; Intuition, Beautiful, which I just love; and Knowing. I got a gift pack for Christmas with six little mini-bottles in it and I think it's pretty cool - I different smell each day! |

| I, too, used to wear Chanel No. 5. I wore it for years and people would stop and ask me what I was wearing. Then one day, out of the blue, no one seemed to notice it anymore. The comments stopped completely. Apparently, my body chemistry had changed. I spent several more years bouncing between different scents with no particular results. Then I found "Touch" by Fred Hayman. It must not be one of their most popular fragrances because it is almost impossible to find. However, once again, people stop and ask me what I am wearing and they have been doing so for the last 4-5 years--ever since I started wearing it. |

| Bev, I would think if you ask around at some perfume counters you might find someone who seems to know her perfumes, some companies train cosmeticians well. Where I live, we have some specialized perfume only stores, although I have met some very knowledgeable perfume sales girls who knew their stuff very well, and I could tell by the way they answered my questions.... I would ask them of similar scents to the one I use, and they would pick out a few to try. |

| Okay, thanks Mitch. I really didn't realize they knew very much at the sales counters in department stores. I just assumed they were clerks only. We don't have any specialty stores here that I am aware of. I'm going to try you suggestion. |

| I would have to say right now my favorite anytime scent would be Lucky You. I also like Mambo, its light and citrusy and a good winter and fall scent for me. I agree with the layering also, it really make a differance in the way the scent lasts I also have to have the small bottle to keep in my purse for touch up since I smoke I usually give myself a quick squirt mid-day to freshen it up. |

| My favorite fragrance is an essential oil, East Indian Patchouli. It's rich, woodsy and warm. I mix it with almond oil to calm the strength. I've had women (and men) time and time again stop me to ask what I'm wearing. One lady told me at the checkout she had been following me around the store for 30 minutes enjoying the fragrance. I think though, with any fragrance, you have to find what works with your body chemistry. I go to an essential oil specialist who can mix oils and custom make a fragrance for an individual. After all, perfumes are made from these oils, too. I don't get a custom mix, just the pure Patchouli. I love to buy incense of same, and enjoy the scent throughout the house. I see it more and more in sprays, bath salts, soaps, lotions, even deodorant. It's me. |

| I have worn Opium (way too strong to me now), KL (lighter version of Opium but discontinued), Allure (still like it), and a few others. I recently bought Chic by Caroline Herrera, but I am really disappointed with it. I really like the scent but it *does not last*. The #1 scent I wear is a cheapy called "Heart" from Garden Botanika. I once smelled it on a woman at work and finally had to ask what it was. It is a light, clean fresh scent that everybody loves. I have lost count of the number of people who ask what I am wearing or simply say I smell good. It really is amazing. |

| mitchdesj - you will love the scent! I am serious - complete strangers stop me and ask what I'm wearing. At the mall, in the grocery store, the bank...even the guy that did an estimate on some hail damage to my car asked. The other thing I like about it is that you really can't put too much on, like other perfumes. It doesn't get overwhelming, so if you accidently spritz on more than you intend, it is fine. |

| Calyx by prescriptives, rosewood essential oil is my signature scent (it can irritate other people's skin, but not mine) and Hove perfumier in New ORleans's house scent 'rue royale' the scent my husband was wearing when we met- for our honeymoon, we went down there, and bought one another bottles of their hand-made perfumes...and I bought 6 different 'solids' in scents like vetivert and verbena : ) of all the 'fancy' perfumes I've ever tried, I like theirs the best- even their florals, and I'm NOT into flowery scents. |

This is the first time I've looked at this forum and I hope no one minds me adding my favourite Eau de Toilette which is AIRE - an enchanting light scent made by the Spanish firm LOEWE which I've worn for years. I discovered it when one of my daughters was staying with us and I was tidying up her bathroom. There was a heavenly scent which I traced to a spray bottle of AIRE, which she'd received from her boyfriend for her birthday. They also make a rich spicy scent for evenings which my other daughter loves, called GALA de NOCHE in a black bottle. A lighter one is also called GALA de DIA (for day wear.) Sharon |

I usually don't wear any scent because so many of them just disagree with me and I often find other women's scents disagreeable, but I can and do occasionally wear Safari by Ralph Lauren. It's pretty strong (to me) and I wear it very lightly. I'm definitely going to check into Garden Botanika! |

| the lady said it was intentional contrary to american scents which are very strong.... she said you are supposed to bathe in the bath oil, put on the perfumed cream and then spritz the cologne a few times a day...... so the layering thing keeps you enveloped with the scent....in a subtle manner. Sounds more like this keeps the manufacturers over there enveloped in money!! |

| So right, Weed !! This lady sprayed me from head to toe as she explained her french theory...... If you have a chance to sample the 2 Annick Goutal fragrances I mentioned, let me know what you think. Neiman and Saks carry them........ I usually buy them for myself at xmas only, I go through the cologne bottle within 2 months, the body lotion I stretch out for 6 months; as I might have mentioned before, I buy my own gifts for DH to give me ( have done this for years, DH always bought useless stuff and shopped dec. 24), so I use this opportunity to really splurge. I am completely in love with Eau du Sud, it thrills me to bits. Needless to say, I go nuts with the tester when I walk by the counters.... I collect the empty spray bottles, the top is screwed on so they can be reused.... |

| Nieman's and Saks? AAAACK! No matter how nicely I dress, the people that work there seem to have this sixth sense. I believe it's called the "She isn't rich enough to really shop here" sense. Their studious avoidance of having to even make eye contact with me is irritating enough that I only go there once a year -- Dec. 26th for 50% off Xmas ornaments. (oh, my - I guess they are right - I'm CHEAP!!!) |

| I loved Sinan, which is long discontinued. I like Jil Sander, and I wear Lalique voile parfumat, which is the spray version of the body lotion, lighter than the cologne or eau de parfum, but a very old fashioned flower scent. I also like Escape. |

| Hi Ladies!! I rarely venture out of the Cooking Forum myself - I've been wearing Jaipur Saphir from Boucheron for a few years now and often get stopped to find out what I'm wearing. It's soft, but not "powdery" smelling. Several of the blurbs I've seen describing the scent recommend it for daytime wear, but it's about the only scent I wear, any time of the day. Lori |

| Haven't checked back here for a few days. bostonpat....Bellodgia was always my mother's favourite perfume. Even as a little girl I remember her Bellodgia sitting on her dressing table and I bought it when I could for her birthdays. She loved carnations and said the perfume reminded her of them. |

I also like one by Avon called Orchid.. I'm a woman of many moods. Weed, what do you mean the salespeople ignore you..? Why are they working there? to wear out their new clothes? But I know what you mean, I think the salegirls in Sak's borrow jewelry from the store to impress the customers. |

| Sharon, I am going downtown tomorrow and will stop by the perfume shop where I think they might have the aire products, I'll let you know if I can try it.... Weed, just wander in those stores as if you own them, don't let the sales crew stop you; they are just earning a living, they are not there to intimidate you. Etoile du Sud sounds nice, I'll look for it also. The one I am talking about is definitely Eau du Sud, by Annick Goutal, all the packaging is cream color and gold, and all the bottles are the same, only the name varies... I really enjoy reading about all your favorite scents !!!!! |

| Good thread. I would like to check out some of your recommendations. I haven't been into fragrances for several years, but I wore one on my wedding day and it added a dimension: Victoria Secret creme: Dream Angels. It is soft, a little heavy on the "powdery", but innocent, just like a bride. (!) My favorite is one I made myself. My town had a boutique that sold essential oils, although it is no longer in business. I mixed three oils together and unfortunately, I can only recall that Amber was one of the three. I still have the bottle which is empty. But I still sniff it from time to time. Making a scent of your own is a very satisfying experience! After that, for several years, I wore a tea rose scent which I liked a lot. My stepmother sent me Chanel No 5 for Christmas, which I stopped wearing several years ago. I have an unused 5.3 oz jar of creme. Anyone interested? It's yours for the asking. |

And the sales staff at Saks should take heed of the book; The Day They Shook the Plum Tree,, the true story of that Gagillionaire Hetty Green, and about the day she walked into Bergdorf looking like a street person and whipped out cash and bought the most expensive Sable coat they had... you just never know. |

| MQ, I love amber-based essential oils! I buy a couple different ones at the Whole Foods Market in New Orleans. Other than that the only other scent I wear is Obsession or the light summer version. |

| First time on this forum, so I am jumping in late - I love Michael by Michael Kors. That's my winter perfume, it's a bit heavy. For summer I like Romance by Ralph Lauren. Get so many compliments on that one. Also like Happy by Clinique. Cindy Mac, do you visit New Orleans often (don't want to be nosy and ask if you live there. . . ) I am going in January for my 30th b-day and I was wondering about spas - if there are a lot of them there, are they pricey? should I be looking to book something now? I will be in New Orleans only for the weekend then I am going on a cruise to Mexico, so I may save the spa time for the cruise, but, always good to check out all the options. |

| Dragonfly - At this time I think you can only get Garden Botanika online. They used to have stores in St. Louis, but closed them. I called and the woman said they were planning to have counters inside some department stores in the future. Not sure which ones. |

| Oscar de la Renta. Oscar is full of elegant white flower scents. His fragrances, just like his clothing designs unmask Mr. De la Renta as a man who loves women (unlike some other designers I could name whose clothing designs clearly designate them as misogynists). If "your" scent morphs into something less than lovely, it may be that the bottle has gone bad (if you don't use them up fast enough they can definitely turn rancid). Cologne and EDT age faster if they are exposed to light; store them in the dark and they will last longer. |

| BeverlyAl--- if you're still reading this thread I just did a "Google" for "Le Dix" and there were quite a few sites that have the parfume along with the cologne. I'd list the sites but not sure what the policy is here for commercial sites. The one I've received the most compliments over the years is "Pheromone" by Marilyn Miglin. Not that expensive but really a wonderful non sweet scent. I just love it. I heard that Princess Diana's favorite scent was "24 Faubourg" by Hermes so I got a small sample for my daughter to try. | Another one by Hermes called Amazon is delicious, my German cousin wears that. I just got a sample of Este Lauders new Beyond Paradise,,,very nice, a 'clean' type fragrance. Also received a sample bottle of her Intuition in my Gift bag of goodies.. not bad either, I may have to spring for a bottle. The Hermes may be a little too high priced for me to wear to work. |

| Years and years ago likely about 20 there was a fragrance made by Jovan. It was an inexpensive scent I'm fairly sure the name was Frankinsence and Myrh. Does anyone know if there is a similar scent available any where or if it's possible to get this one still. My fave lately has to be Perry Ellis Woman, or 360 degrees. Angel

| Nice to see some of my friends from the Cooking forum! Angel by Thierry Mugler is a wonderful scent-I use the body lotion. Very soft with strong vanilla tones. Obsession body lotion is my other favorite. Another long-time favorite is Rain and Persian Rain oils that are mixed at the Fragrance Shoppe in Manhattan. A little goes a long way and the bottles last forever. These are made up with vanilla, lily of the valley, musk, plus others I can't think of right now. Very soft, very pleasing. Just getting into Burburry's Brit. Bought the body lotion at Sephora after smelling the perfume on a friend. Loving it. Reason I use lotions is that I seems to smell just the alcohol smell from toilet water, even perfume. Lotions tend to be softer, easier to control, and overall just smell better on me. Sue |

| Sue, hi there !! I love it when an old post is revived; this one is 15 months old. I agree with the strong scented lotions; they do seem to impart a nice overall scent that has staying power whereas some strong colognes just hit you in the nose too hard.... and then vanish on your clothing. One scent I love is Eau d'Hadryen from Annick Goutal; it's pricey so I only get it on my birthday One way to make the pricey body cream last longer is that I use it only in crucial areas; for example, I'll smother my dry lower legs with my less expensive body lotion, do thighs and neck/chest area with the more expensive, then do arms with less expensive. Seems complicated but it's not.... My everyday scent is still Spring Fever; the people at our only Origins counter told me it might be discontinued in a year or so, phased out by Ginger Essence which is more musky.... Can you tell I love discussing scents and lotions ?? LOL... |

Altho I shouldn't use it year around, my very favorite fragrance is Comp Sud Pacifique's Vanille Abricot. It's almost embarrassing how many people comment on it or sniff the air and follow me around !!LOL!! Then, I started layering it with Lancome's Miracle (just a squirt). OH MY! I bet I've had a dozen men ask me what I'm wearing...they want to get some for their wife or girlfriend. I wish I could find one for warm weather that I like as much as the Vanille Abricot. Monica |

It's so funny you mention Comptoir Sud Pacifique; I just received an order of body cream from beautyhabits.com and they included a sample of the above in the scent Eau de Voyage, aqua motu and I love it. I'll try to find that line in Canada and smell your favorite. If you'll notice, this thread start in january 2003 and is still going ! |

| Wow, what a great post! Weed, I must have cheap (or mean) oozing from me too. I am usually never approached by any of these people either. About the only one's that come up to me are the push carts in the mall- they say "Can I ask you a question?" I reply "You just did!" and walk away to laughter from people walking behind me- lol Years ago (80's) I wore Avon's Honeysuckle powder in high school. Everyone loved it on me, even teachers. After high school they discontinued it, I tried all sorts of honeysuckle scents, most were too sweet. Avon brought it back about 10 years ago. When I met my current husband, he said he didn't care for it (talk about slapping me!). Avon eventually discontinued again, and when I ran out, current hubby fessed up he really liked it. Honeysuckle is me, always has been- love it, but really have to find more. I'm down to maybe 3 bottles of it. Some of the scents your all mentioning sound really good. I'm going to have to take a day to scent shop. When we were in New Orleans last year, we bought 2 oils, one is an old rose, the other a honeysuckle, but they don't drive me nuts. Anyone try "Meet Mark" by Avon? It's in a clear bottle with a blue rose. Smells really good on my daughter |

| Hannah, I too love Opium, but not on me !! My sister-in-law has also been wearing it for a long long time and I recognize that scent. I've tried it in cosmetics counters but it does not seem to do well on me. | Hi Gals! I love this post too. I don't come to the "Beauty" section because I'm usually too busy to bother with such things, but lately I am of a mind to find myself a "signature scent" or at least to start wearing scent more often. Usually I use scented soap and lotion, with flower scents, rose and jasmine and lily of the valley being my favorites. Sandalwood is my favorite woodsy scent. For summer I don't mind the citrusy scents of bergamot, apple or orange blossom or ylang, ylang. My all time favorite scent is narcissus, but it is extremely difficult to find a perfume that has that as a top note. In high school and college my signature scent was "Nuance" by Coty. G-d I love that perfume, it was perfect, perfect, perfect for me, and I have never been able to find anything anywhere near it since. I wore Nuance in the fall and winter and Muget de Bois in the spring. And the scent of "Clairol Herbal Essence" the original product, was a big hit for me in college, my boyfriend, who was NOT demonstrative, loved it. They made a body powder which was what I used to get the scent, not the shampoo. The new versions just don't cut it at ALL, too fruity and synthetic smelling. Now I'm looking for something a little sexier, but I don't like baby powder, musk or fruity scents or ones with strong vanilla overtones. Floral, woodsy, chypre I guess describes my fragrance style, but with something thrown in to add lightness. So far I haven't quite found a scent I really like, that is me, the way "Nuance" was. I'd like something with rose notes prominent but has some depth, because on its own rose is usually way too sweet in perfume, probably because they use synthetic rose scents. Real roses have a fruity clove scent when they dry out. I need something like cinnamon rose tea. But I don't want to smell like grandma's old pot pourri either, which is redolent of clove and orris root. Right now I'm enamoured with "Ysatis" by Givenchy, but it is a little strong for me. I can't find some of the better French perfumes in the stores around here, and I don't want to buy without smelling first. So for example Annick Goutal I have only seen once, years ago in a Sephora store that I think is closed now. I have found that citrusy scents just do not last on my at all. I sprayed on some Dolce and Gabanna "Blue" last night and the scent didn't last on me past the trip from the perfume counter to the exit. And everything nowdays has melon or peach scents in it, and I find those scents cloying. I mean I love eating melon and peaches, but for some reason I don't want to smell like a fruit. I'm already "fruity" enough I guess. |

| lpinkmountain -- your bio says you live in Pennsylvania. King of Prussia is listed as having a L'Occitane store, which would be a good place for you to browse. (Their verbena scent was already mentioned by Kittie Mom.) I think you might enjoy their rose scent. It is natural, with complex undertones that I find very pleasant. |

| I thought about e-Bay auctions for Nuance, but I haven't seen the perfume in stores in about 20 years. I wonder how good it would be after all that time. I don't know that much about vintage perfume. I think it is a shame what has happened to Coty. They made some great perfume back in the day, I miss a lot of their scents--Muget du Bois, L'Origan, their Sweet Earth solids. |

| That L'Occitane store sounds fabulous! I have a love/hate relationship with the King of Prussia mall. It is an hour's drive, but it has a very nice selection of stores. I have to be in the right mood to go there, since if find it's maze-like qualities very draining. |

| lpinkmountain -- there is a Sephora store in Pittsburgh, if that's any closer to you. We have one and it carries a few L'Occitane products (not the rose or wild rose scents, however). Sephora was mentioned earlier in this thread -- it is like an upscale beauty supply with a wide variety of fragrances and other beauty products, including makeup. (BTW - I found the CSP Vanille Abricot scent there that was mentioned earlier and bought the travel size. I tried layering it on top of my beloved Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace hand & body cream and now I smell like a cross between peach cobbler and cotton candy -- love it!) |

| Niki de Saint Phalle has long been a favorite. Fendi is another. Chanel 19 has long been a standby. I tend to get sick to my stomach from scents and have to be very careful what I wear and I can not put it directly on my skin, ever. I have to put it in my hair or on my clothes. I went perfume shopping the other day at Macy's and almost bought a new bottle of Chanel 19 until I was overcome by nausea from smelling spritzes on paper swatches. At that point I no longer felt like shelling out 80 bucks! Ah, well. Another day, I guess. Or online shopping so I can minimize the scent overload. Such a sad thing! I do love to wear perfume I just have to be careful. |

| I've been wearing Diorissomo for twenty years or so. I've tried many others but I always come back to that and it's my main perfume. I like light florals that are complex and lasting. Laura Ashley #1 was/is a favorite that has been recently been discontinued, although I haven't had a bottle for ages. CK's Moment is a recent addition to my top ten. Others are I had someone recommend Tommy's "F" but I couldn't buy and use a perfume with the name F. It was only ok anyway... |

| Fancy seeing you guys over here! Hi everyone. When I first got married I loved Chanel # 5 - maybe because it was what my mom and my grandmother wore. For the past 15 years my favorite sent is White Linen by Estee Lauder. Since I work from home now I rarely wear a sent, but for special occasions I will pick up White Linen. Another scent I have always gotten comments on is Realities by Liz Claiborne. I think it is discontinued now. What about men? Do you like a man to wear cologne? Not for me. I want DH to smell like soap! :) |

| Wow; today is the 2 year anniversary of this thread , started by me and my original statement is still valid; I still wear Spring Fever- I have sampled some of the scents some of you posted, it's always fun to do that. People close to me will comment if I don't wear the spring fever for a while. I take breaks from it once in a while since I can't smell it on me; I keep looking for a replacement favorite but haven't latched on to anything else except Eau d'Hadryen which has no staying power at all; I buy one bottle a year for the pleasure of it but it's rather pricey. Yesterday, I sampled Amor Amor from cacharel; way too strong and potent for my taste. I can always sniff an Opium wearer; I'm attracted to that perfume but it does not suit me at all when I've worn it......

I was intrigued by your comments about Annick Goutal's scents, so I ordered a sample collection of her perfumes. I got six little samples in a gift bag and have been trying them out all week. So far, DH tells me Eau du Sud smells like old ladies, LOL. But, I love Eau d'Hadryen and wish it would last more than 20 minutes on my skin. The Eau du Charlotte is also scrumptious and seems to be lasting much longer - and, DH has proclaimed it non-old lady smelling! Thanks for starting this thread and for introducing me to a great perfumer! |

| hw. how right you are about Eau du Sud; I bought it once and loved it but at one point, I started to be annoyed by it for that precise reason. I think it attracted me initially because it reminded me of one of my aunts who used to wear Rapture ( avon)- I'm talking 25 years ago.... lol..... Last year I bought Les Nuits d'Hadryen, a stronger version of Eau d'Hadryen- it has more staying power. I forgot about it when I was writing this morning.... (before 7 a.m. I'm still a bit foggy) I'll be sad to see this post disappear; I wonder if we should start a sequel soon after ?? |

This forum motivates me to spend a few extra minutes a day on me! My favorites change over the years. Right now I love Amarige and Angel. I've also started wearing a Mary Kay body mist called Happiness. It's a citrus scent and I think it perks me up when I'm feeling tired and worn out. It doesn't last like a perfume would but I like the clean smell. |

| Xia Xiang by Revlon. It was a peony scent. They quit making it several years ago. I always, always got compliments when I wore it, especially from guys. I wish Revlon would bring it out again. I now wear Peony by Bath and Body. |

| Wow this thread has been around a long time. I've been reading through and now I want to go out and try some new fragrances. I've been wearing Beautiful by Este Lauder for the last 16 years. I still love the fragrance after all this time. I've been wearing it so long that my kids now say "this smells like you" or "you don't smell like you". I have had many strong likes over the years. There was a dime store fragrance called Daydreams back in the eighties that I really liked. I used to love Oscar De La Renta and light musks. I was at the store the other day and the cashier smelled so pretty. I said she smelled pretty but was just going to let it go at that. Then I decided I had to know what that yummy scent was. It was JLo's new perfume! I was really surprised. She said she gets lots of compliments on it. Who'd a thought? These days Beautiful is my everyday scent, but I switch it up with Gucci in the evening, XoXo when I am feeling flirty and pink. I am also seriously drawn to crisp citrisy scents. Bath and Body used to have a pink grapfruit line that I LOVED, it was perfect. I really miss having that. This is a fun thread, thanks. |

| Private Collection by Estee Lauder. I use the perfume and my granddaughter says she loves my "Nana smell". It's an old fragrance and getting harder to find. Guess they stopped making the body powder, so I make a concoction myself with cornstarch and a cotton ball partly saturated in the perfume. It has to set for a while and "cure", but works well. |

| I just tried a new scent by Beauty Control called "Brown Sugar". I love it. It is very different than any fragrance I have tried before. Not too expensive $25.00. My kids and husband love it. Not perfumy, kind of kitcheny but not like cookies, feminine. I have used "Nautica" for several years and like it, but it is nice to try something very different and like it. Maybe it's that same things about men and their stomaches, hmmm... |

| My scent is "Curious Britney Spears". It has kind of become my signature scent. I like it because it is so young, I like being secure in knowng that when I walk by and people catch a whiff, they smell something young and sexy rather than something overdone and offensive. It's perfect for day or night, it kinda smells like sweet flowers and I always get complimented on it. |

| My fave is hard to find. It's by Coty and called Amalistsa. It has a nice, clean scent I like that doesn't give me a headache or sneezing fit. I prefer the talc to the cologne and that's almost impossible to find. A friend of mine found some at Ebay and gave me some for my birthday in Dec. I have to ration it. |

| I know this is a really OLD post, but fragrance is such fun! My all-time favorite was Spiritual Sky Yellow Rose Oil, but they don't make it anymore (and I grew up!) I love Guerlaine Majora for the warmer months and Samsara for the winter. My go-to scent anytime is Chanel 22. And I'm seriously "hinting" to the hubby that I want to try the new Coromandel (Chanel) from the Les Exclusifs line. |

| This past year I have been in love with Curve Soul. From the first whiff last summer I have hardly touched any of my other scents. I spritz myself before bed every night and the smell makes me so happy. It's light and very florally. Most people would think it was too sweet and girly. I've been through two big bottles so far and have more in the drawer. |

Personally I'm in a fragrance funk...I have a few that I use and like but I'm tired of them...Light Blue, Heavenly, Opium(knock off that smells much better! Lighter) But each time I read a thread somewhere that someone LOVES a certain perfume, I go and smell it and it smells awful on me...I tend to "turn" perfumes into something stinky. |

| frabee...dadgummit! I was just at a grocery store(Marc's)yesterday that has a larger than normal cosmetic department...they had Jovan White Musk there. That's strange that you can't get it in Canada. What about from a different on line site that sells fragrances only or the drug store's on line websites? I was just talking to my niece yesterday that said she was smelling a friends perfume and come to find out it was patchouli/vanilla essential oil. She said it smelled fabulous! She said that she got it from a place that makes bath products for you(you choose the scent) kind of like The Body Shop. |

| I just bought 2 more bottles of Spring Fever, they haven't discontinued it after all this talk. I'm still trying out other scents once in a while, I like some of Jo Malone's scents such as grapefruit but it feels like a home scent to me. |

| This made me think of my "high school" days...I always wore "Tigress" really was me on the inside-outside I was kind of shy.I am trying to remember who it was by...they made "Hyponotic" I think, and all the bottles were the same but perfumes were different colors. Tigeress was gold and had a tiger looking cloth band around the top. Too bad some of our long time fav's aren't available anymore...:( Another I loved back them was called something link "sthyx" or something like that. It was in a black bottle-really musky - woodsy- great. Anyone remember? |

| My all time favorites are kai (ONLY the lotion or oil, the EdP loses a GREAT deal of the charm) for summer and Jalaine's Patchouli for winter. I qualify for perfumista, as I could also give you my top thirty, and own about 150. I will SO be trying Spring Fever today. Any perfume that inspires such loyality is a big gap in my sniffing hobby! A quick search on my perfume forum Note- Artemesia, mandarin, apple, watermelon, marigold, linden blossom, cypress The quick thing I find you might like also, is a travel exclusive from Estee Lauder called Emerald Dream. Top Notes Middle Notes I've never smelled either one of them, but I know blue basil won't give you quite the aromatic bite of artemsia, and the apricot/cyclamen won't give quite the wet fruit appeal of apple and watermelon. The violet/iris is going to give some powder but who knows to what extent. Notes like "Beach skin accord" probably means a clean, salty musk. The mimosa is what might get you--similiar in feel to linden, a green floral note of spring. And of course the wood heavy base. Overall, I'd guess a bit more of an attempt at 'Early Summer Fever'? If you ever get a chance, try Mimosa pour Moi by L'Artisan. It's spring in a bottle to me--but not wet or woody. The base is vanilla musk. |

| oh my, do I ever remember Tigress, I felt very grown up wearing that. I'll definitely try the Mimosa when I'm at the mall, it sounds great. They still sell Spring Fever, but they don't feature it; they never retired it but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. I should get a few more while it's there. |

| Coty was the perfume house of all those, I think. I remember that none of those were subdued, specially Emeraude. I so loved Rapture by Avon, they've brought out oldies from time to time but never that one. |
