I would second the notion that it is probably a dog issue. I've also had a past similar issue when i had a riding lawn mower that exhausted onto the grass and if you stopped for an extended period of time would kill a perfect circle like this. I would not say that it would be a grub spot either (a bit TOO dead).

I'm staying with my DD in Alabama, caring for my infant grandson. I saw a doctor here for brown spots on my hands last week, and they lasered spots on both hands for a mere $50! I had saved up my 'gifts' from our anniversary and my birthday to have this done, so I had money left to have the veins near my ankles lasered (now THAT hurts...like stepping into a wasps' nest!), and then some! She sold me a product called.... Obagi Nu-Derm Clear, Skin Bleaching and Corrector Cream. WOW!! Is this stuff wonderful!! I asked if I could use it on the brown spots I had on my face, and they are practically all gone! She told me to apply it to my hands twice in the morning, and twice in the afternoon. It did dry out my face, and I peeled...much like a sunburn, but without the pain. Once the dead skin peeled off, so did the brown spots. I thought it was prescription only, but I just found it for sale on the internet. I paid $63, but this site has it for a couple of dollars more. My dermatologist took some brown spots off my face awhile back using this method, and it worked exactly like said. First they looked worse, then they looked scabby, then the scab came off and there was nice pink skin under it! I would never recommend trying do-it-yourself om your face, but you can remove brown spots elsewhere by applying dry ice. I did it on my arms and it worked. It doesn't take much time, so be very careful! It's also good to do these procedures in the winter so the tender new skin is not exposed to the sun, presuming your winters are cold and gray like mine.

Outside, I have both a a tinted moisturizer (Neutrogena) and a tinted sunscreen that I love (Elta). I put them on every morning, but realistically, they should be reapplied during the day if I'm going to be in the sun, so I'll just need to remember. While I won't be lying on the beach, I will be outside much of each day. Going on a week of college tours with my oldest! And I've never ever been a hat person, sadly. I wish I was but I'm terribly self-conscious about wearing a hat, so the only time I do is when I'm actually at the beach or pool. Boop, I'lm not sure which procedure your question is directed to, but I'm assuming you mean the Photofacial? I looked it up as I've never heard of it, and saw a video that a woman posted showing how she looked before, immediately after and then the following day. Her face was red and splotchy the first day, but she looked normal the next day. As for the laser treatment I had for my one spot, I didn't look like a freak. In fact, I thought it would be worse based on how the dermatologist described it. She said it would turn purpleish and look like a bruise b/f becoming flaky eventually and then fall off. Mine never changed color - it was slightly red around the edges, but the spot stayed brown. Then all of a sudden it was dry/flaky, and just came right off yesterday. Mine was about the size of the eraser on top of a pencil and right smack dab in the middle of my cheek, so very noticeable. I was worried i'd need to cover it up in the days afterward, but I didn't need to.
