| It is a little bit.. but if your cooking meat you can cook with the hood closed. A cooler grill is great for cooking fish, shrimp, veggies, or pretty much anything delicate. You can look at Napoleon grills wich are a little hotter and comes with a cookbook designed for there grill and teaches you about indirect cooking.
