Weber S-470 Gas Grill with smoker

we recently got the weber S-470 that comes with a smoker box - this, for us, was one of the appealing things about this model and we had read a good review of the smoker....we have now used it 3 times...every time billows of wonderful smelling smoke come out of the right side of the grill where the smoker is located...when we lift the lid there is no smoke in the cavity of the grill and the food has no smoke flavoring at all...calls to weber (who are known for their customer service) have not led anywhere. Has anyone had this experience?...or does anyone have any suggestions?

| Did you check the airflow between the smoker box and the grill? Were the grill vents open, or at least cracked? |

| I'm thinking about getting this grill. Do you mind telling me how hot you can get the thing? Also are you on NG or LP? Thanks! You could try turning the grill around just to see if the outside air is blowing into the roto slot on one end and blowing right thru. |
