I get my labels from http://www.pettags4less.com/. They are engraved aluminum pet tags which I have them engrave as Hosta Little Treasure or Heuchera Midas Touch etc. I get the black shield or black heart shaped labels. They come with tiny keyrings. I then use either stainless steel skewers that I've bent the loop on so the key rings stay put or the green vinyl-coated plant supports that I've bent the ring downward on to keep the keyrings in place. Every day, pet tags 4 less runs a special on one of their shapes. Those are the ones I get, when they are suitable for long hosta names. That's how I ended up with hearts and shields.

Well, Moccasin, I knew about pet tags, having cats (who, paradoxically, don't wear collars or tags, but you are aware of these things when you own pets anyway). I knew about stainless steel skewers and that nice ring they have shaped on them. I just combined the 2 concepts. The only bad thing that happens to them is the "landscape workers", who manage to cause the tags to come off the skewers and get lost. I just got word that my hosta shipment from Made in the Shade will arrive today, yippee! Can't till the Neighbor's Plot til Sunday, so I will just inspect the plants and leave them wrapped for Saturday. No sense in potting them if I'm gonna put 'em in the ground Sunday, right?

Esther, whoops! Sorry, somehow didn't see your response until now! Yes, I saw that other vendors of the dog tags also charge almost as much for shipping the second through gazillionth tag as they do the first, but I think that's because normally they probably aren't selling more than a couple or three at a time -- they're dog tags, and very few people have as many dogs as I have hostas! :) I think next time I'm going to contact the seller ahead of time and ask for cheaper shipping. It cost her $1.71 to ship my tags, and she charged me over $10 in shipping. That's ridiculous. However, I'm very happy with the tags themselves, and I probably will go back for more even if I have to keep paying that much in shipping because the tags look so good. I found some skewers that worked! I found these on Amazon and was able to bend them using pliers by laying them flat on my kitchen counter with the loop hanging over the edge, grasping them right up under the neck of the loop with the pliers, then bending up HARD. I'm scrawny and I could do it, so it would be a cinch for any man and probably most women. These skewers are flat, so I did need the loops that came with the tags, but I really love the finished product, and the skewers are 17" long so they can go deep into the ground and still stick up high enough to read easily without squatting. If you buy the pizza pan, make sure it is stainless steel instead of aluminum, as aluminum can melt on wood/charcoal grill. If you are using a gas grill, you will not get a smoky flavor - unless you are adding wood chips - and so there would be no point. I use a pizza stone on my charcoal grill, and I still get a smoky flavor, and so I do not think the holes in the bottom are really necessary for the smoke to flavor the pizza. They might help, but they are not needed for flavor. However, all of my pizza pans have holes in them, and so there may be another function to them. I used to have five pans, but now I have four... I've never seen a Pampered Chef store, and so maybe they are only in the East. Lars
