Turkey legs are on sale and I was thinking if I could smoke them like the ones at the fair they would be a big hit. Does anyone know the secret? We do have a covered grill I can do the smoking part in but is there a marinade first or a glaze to use? Thanks.

I used to be a member of a men's club that raised money for charity by selling turkey legs at fairs. It was incredibly easy to do. We had access to a commercial cannery, where we simply put the legs in water and cooked them for a while (this was years ago, so I don't remember how long we cooked them). Then at the fair, we'd drop the precooked legs on the gas grill, and put some BBQ sauce on them. No special ingredients, very easy.

Unfortunately, that last set of steps will not impart much of any smoke flavor on your turkey legs.. For that you'll need a smoker which is not something that many BBQ's from Home Depot et-al are capable of doing. YMMV
