| I installed the natural gas conversion kit from Virco this weekend. This is my first gas grill, so please excuse my ignorance. The kit included five new valves for connection to the common gas pipe and a couple other devices for the IR burner and the side burner. Other than slicing my hand several times, it went okay. Then - and this is the part I'm worried about - I removed the LP regulator that comes with the grill and connected a hose between the quick connect on my gas line (which was there when I bought the house) to the threaded connection on the common gas pipe of the grill.
When I turn on the grill, it ignites fine, but the flame is completely colorless. I was expecting a blue flame, or at least something I could see. The invisible flame seems kind of dangerous to me. Did I do something wrong? Thanks in advance. |

| I sounds like you did everything just fine. I think the flames are blue, but it is hard to see them. Look at them at night and I am sure that you will see blue flames. |

| At one time Virco was telling people that you needed a regulator with the NG conversion kit. That is un-true and you can hook your gas line directly into the unit. After I did the conversion I needed to adjust the burners to get a higher blue flame. |
