Just wanted to provide an update. Well, I decided to do the following to see if it was my bias or the DW - put dirty dishes into DW without soaking/scrubbing - do NOT overfill the DW. - ensure that the dirty surfaces have face time with the water jets (goes back to not overfilling) - since water gets into detergent reservoir when loading, (1) close reservoir to keep dry -or- (2) dry with napkin before placing detergent in Lo and behold, dried on sauces/etc. came off! Lo and behold, no more clumpy unused detergent! Been running the DW like this for 1.25 months now, and I must say that I am very happy with it. Part of my and the wife's bias was that we forgot that we used to SOAK all of our dishes with the old DW. Hence, our impressions were that the old DW did a "better" job because we could never remember a dirty dish/flatware coming out of the DW, but that was because they were going in CLEAN in the first place! But in doing my test a few times and then showing the wife, she now loads without prewashing except for stuff like dried on rice, and greasy stuff! I must say that I enjoy doing dishes now! What used to take 10 min+ is easily half that now since there's no more prewashing/scrubbing. Wife used to say with the old DW that she wished she did not have to pre-wash...now she doesn't! (how soon we forget!) Still on occasion, we'd get a dirty knife or fork or bowl, but that's easily tolerated for 99% clean. Could have been user error again or really some type of dirty the DW can't handle. No more disappointment that it's not "100%" "like the old DW" (misplaced bias). I should have done this test earlier to learn what it can and can't handle. Thanks all for your comments and suggestions. (Oh, if I do need to do some rinsing, I'll run the water as warm/hot; helps to prime supply line before running the DW.)

Why don't you listen ? 104F is the safest temporary temperature rize for the human body not to excede a 15 minuet time frame. After you alter the thermostat canceling your U.L. approval your tub now become not legal and insurance companies love that. How are you going to alter the high limit after you screw with the stat ? Most of those tubs come with timers. Is that going to be altered ? Do you have any idea how poisonous chlorine gets after it is heated behond safe levels ? And what is that safe level ? Do you have any idea how stupid it is to shut off the pump with over heated water ? I guess not. The water now does not move. You are now in a poaching tub. Sorry, i take that. I know you will leave the tub when you get too hot, but let's say your not feeling well. Had a bad day. Under medication or not up to snuff. Fall asleep, Wake up dead. Then what ? It could happen. I was a power engineer at a holiday inn for years and have pulled many unconscious people from the wet sauna ( and we locked it off at 104F. with an outside manual timer maxed out at 15 minuets. We took the water away because they were flooding the heating elements and shorting them out so they went to the pool and poured chlorinated water from empty beer cans onto the heaters. Chlorine poisoning and burned lungs. Nice vacation. I guess you have already made up your mind and we will not turn you. Good luck and be carefull. Maybe warmer clothing when riding your bike ?

For your system, with your pipe size and your flow rate? About 45 seconds. If you are interested in the non-smartass answer: You didn't provide your pipe size or the age of your faucet so I will make the following assumptions: (1) Faucet was purchased after 1994 (2) Pipes are 3/4" copper (3) You've got about 40' of pipe Modern faucets have a max flow of 2.2 gpm. That amount of water travelling through 3/4" copper pipe travels at 1.46 ft/s. If the water traveled along in a perfect slug with no mixing, it would take a 27.4 seconds to exist your faucet, but it doesn't. Some mixing, and therefore cooling, takes place at the lead edge. In addition, the water is losing heat as it heats up the copper pipe along the way. If your pipe is 1", 2.2 gpm would travel at 0.86 ft/s and take 47 seconds plus the extra time for heating the pipe and mixing with the cooler water. Of course, YMMV if your faucet allows less flow, pipe diameter or length is different, etc,
