 o
Vermont Casting 2012 400 Series or Weber S-470?

I'm been struggling with this. FYI 2012 models are made in the US again. Also this is not about "VC" branded grills sold thru Home Depot.

VC Pro's:
Slightly Hotter than weber
Made in US and is quality built

Not sure if its a pro: Inferred side searing burner.

Cons:
The flame taming system needs cleaning or you loose the heat
Cooking Grates are cast iron (scratch and rust)
You have to work with local dealer for warranty.
Takes 3 weeks to get parts.

Weber Pros:
Truly excellent direct customer service/warranty .
Parts will always be available.
Their sear system adds another burner so you get a normal side burner.
THICK SS Grates will never fail.
Flavorizer bars don't need cleaning

Cons:
Made in China
Not as hot as VC
Not sure if roto spit and motor is included.
Rain will get into the drip pan and flood it causing grease to go all over the cabinet. (personal experience)

What do you guys think?
