Compared to granite, estone is much easier to cut. You shouldn't have too much trouble cutting and grinding as necessary to scribe. Wear hearing, eye, and respiration protection.

Thanks, did you ever hear the stone can burn because of resins in it? I could not find much on this, but read a comment online. said you need a water jet cutter?

You do not need a water jet to cut estone. Your grinder with appropriate abrasives will be fine.

Estone must be kept cool, usually by water, when polishing or the resin in the estone will burn. If you're only scribing an unfinished edge, this is moot for you.

OK, one last question, would use use a cutting wheel to undercut the back on an degree angle, and than use the grinder to take off the very edge to get to the scribe mark? Or use the diamond masonary cutting wheel to cut through the piece allong the scribe mark? Will the wheel leave jagged/chipped edges? The piece is 3cm.
