faucet-lavatory compatibility

Have chosen Toto Soiree single-handled faucets (TL960SD) and narrowed down the sink choices to Toto LT191(G) or Kohler Kelston (K-2382). Both sinks are shallow, rectangular, and undermounted. However, spec sheet for Toto sink says it's not recommended for use with the Soiree faucet. (I've emailed Toto for explanation, haven't yet heard back.)

I'm guessing for a shallow sink, it's wise to have a low spout to minimize splashing. Beyond that, what other factors are involved in determining compatibility? Where the drain hole is? The pop-up mechanism? What am I missing?

I found out the hard way that there are many things to consider - my issue is faucet too big for sink. See the this recent thread - it's not yet resolved for me.

I had to be careful not to get a tall faucet that would interfere with where I needed to place my medicine cabinet. Be sure your door has clearance!

And yes, I think you want to consider the splash factor if your sink is relatively shallow.

Toto responded that shallow sinks require faucets with aerators to minimize splashing. My chosen faucet has a ribbon water flow, no aerator, so I have to switch to a deeper sink.
