Infinity style bathtub??

Is there anyone who can share their experience with an infinity style bath tub; the water that flows over apparently recirculates. I was wondering if that makes the bath water cold faster. Also wondering how hard it is to clean the trough.

I've only seen photos of it and usually the water comes from the ceiling.
