| we are knocking down a wall in our half bath to add a shower (behind the wall is a coat closet soon to be shower, 36x48). we want to tile the shower floor to ceiling but our plumber warned us of leaking tiles at the shower base. is there something we could lay down first before tiling to make sure we have a water tight seal? |

| Tiles will leak whether it is a shower or a tub. That why a waterproof membrane should be used now days. See this recent thread: |

| Look up the Kerdi system to waterproof the whole room and create a wetroom. |
