It depends.

How tall are you? Do you have the space for a 72 inch tub?
I suggest you go to a retail store that has a number of tubs on display and sit in them.

I'm 5'6 and I honestly feel like I'm drowning in a 72" tub. I guess it also depends on what type of tub it is as well. When I tried out a 72" x 36" deep soaker tub, I was sure I was going to float away. In the new house we are building I chose a 66" x 36" deep soaking tub (a Kohler "Underscore" with Bask Heating) and I can already tell I'm going to love it. I like being able to lay back, however, and reach the end of the tub with my feet so that I can put them up a little bit. There's no way I could lay back in a 72" deep soaker tub and have my feet reach the end. I too suggest, however, going to a retail store and trying out some tubs.

Snooker I am considering the exact same tub. I am 5'4 and I doubt that my husband will be taking baths. Actually, I doubt that I will either, but we do need one in our master bath. Thanks, I think i will get the 66.

If you doubt that you or your husband will take baths, why are you installing a tub, then? What do you plan to do with it?

Mostly for kids gladys. Also, it's a new build, can't not have a tub in a pretty big master bath :)

abekker - I agree, a large, brand new, gorgeous master bathroom just needs a killer tub to go in it. And like you said, sometimes it's just too cold for the kids to go swimming outside. So what's the next best thing? Mommy and Daddy's gigantic bathtub/swimming pool. :)

I tried mine out at the "Ferguson's" by me. They have a lot of different tubs out that you can try if you happen to have one by you.
