Master Bath Decisions

Hello All,

I finally made an account after reading many posts and I think you guys give awesome advice! My parents are redoing their bathroom and my mom really likes this tub. She is a direct buy member and the tub there costs $1800 (not including shipping and handling). The tub is from Canada but I was wondering if you have seen it elsewhere for cheaper?

The tub would go next to the shower and the bathroom has a window but does not get a lot of light. If you are trying to keep the bathroom light what would you pick for wall tile and paint?

Thanks for your help :) The demo starts the first week of Jan 2015 so they are trying to order everything so it comes on time. The decision making is overwhelming them so I am trying to help.

That is a gorgeous tub!! I would probably got with white or light gray tile and paint, then add color with towels and accessories.

You won't find it anywhere cheaper than Direct Buy, unless you find a floor model. I would be careful publishing their prices, though. The membership can be terminated for this from what I understand.

If you search "Brown Tub" on Houzz.com, you can get some ideas of different ways folks have used one.
Here are a few I found.

While not exactly the same tub, they used a neutral tile with a complimentary vein and colors that coordinated.

This one uses a neutral tan floor and green paint and sheers with brown. Reminds me of chocolate mint ice cream.

Not a brown tub, but a brown surround, on a neutral pallet.

And yet another look. The brown surround gives the same effect. If you didn't want marble counters,but like the looks of dark emperador, a nice granite substitute is coliseum aka Golden Beaches.
