Color Variation between Wall & Floor Size of Same Tile?

We recently ordered Daltile Salerno tile in Nubi Bianche from a local dealer. We ordered two sizes: 12" x 12" for the bathroom floor, and 10" x 14" for our shower wall. The floor tile is noticeably darker in color than the wall tile. Is that normal? I understand that dye lots can vary, but supposedly these are all from the same dye lot. Tempted to reorder the tile, but don't want to go through all the hassle if this kind of color variation is normal.

It can be a "crap shoot," and varies from company to company and tile to tile. It is not unusual for different size tile, even in the same dye lot to vary a bit. Smaller tile is often just "cut down" larger tile. Examining the back will often show this up. The smaller tile may not have a "complete" border etching...indicating it was cut after firing. This is done often with bullnosed tile.

Chances are that these tiles were from different "firings" and may well very. If the differences aren't huge, you might even like the subtle shade variations. Your call...
