Small clawfoot tub......worth the hassle?

I'm thinking of remodeling the master bath in an old farm house. Came up with a little plan to expand the bathroom into the pantry and get a nice 60" claw foot tub.

But someone last week pointed out 'why' I had a useless heating vent in the pantry. It wasn't to heat the room. It was to cover the hole right able the basement well pump. That would explain why the pantry also has an access panel in the ceiling.....so the well pump can be brought straight up.

So if I went with my original plan, the tub would completely cover these access holes, thus if the well pump went, I would be stuck. I plan on hooking into city water next summer, but I would like to keep the well to water the lawn.

Therefore, I'm stuck with maybe putting in a 48" tub or maybe a round one. What do you guys think......even worth the hassle?
