Do slipper tubs offer more or less leg room?

We're in the final selection process of a new freestanding tub for a remodel in our family bath. Because of size constraints, we need to select a tub that's no more than 66x30"...and we've narrowed it down to Signature Hardware's Sheba slipper tub. But I'm wondering: I'm short, my husband is tall (6"3): should we avoid slipper tubs? Does the back rest, which theoretically looks more comfortable, scootch you down and make less room for the legs? Given the space constraints, I'm trying to make the tub as roomy as possible. We could go with a more standard ovoid tub that sits you straight up. Anyone have a medium size slipper tub like this? (I can't find any in my area that are roughly the same size to sit in or I wouldn't be asking this nearly ridiculous question.) I'd love to hear your reflections on your soaking experiences...Thanks!
