Hi ellendi, I used DAL Arctic White subways in my shower with Laticrete Smoke Gray grout. I agonized between Smoke Gray and Silver Shadow. SG is a little darker than I really wanted and wish I'd gone with SS. But sometimes SS can look mauve and that scared me off.

I did a gray floor as well. There were lots of great looking concrete look tile, which I thought I wanted, but GW folks helped me choose another.

My husband is in charge of construction, I'm helping with the kitchen and bathroom. This is a very, very tiny apartment in Manhattan! We are very excited for her.

Ellen, I think it's so exciting your daughter is getting her own place. My daughter lives in San Francisco and buying is out of the question. Rents are sinfully high.
