We are remodeling the bathroom in the fixer we just bought and I need to order tile soon. I know we will use glossy 3x6 subway tile in the shower surround and as wainscoting (is that the right word?...you get the idea) around the rest of the tiny bathroom. The floors will be 1" white porcelain hex tile with black flowers. My question is: does the floor tile finish have to match the walls? ie, will matte floors look weird, and should I get glossy hex to match the glossy subway tile walls?
