Help me get my pink tub back!

Hi all! We recently moved into a 1942 brick colonial. Today I removed the shower doors and discovered a pink porcelain tub! I love love love it. Now how do I get the finish off and get my pink back? I have been using a scraper to get the caulk off from the shower and it seems to only be one thin coat as it is coming off with the scraper but it would take forever to do that to the entire tub. I just talked with the PO and she was so mad! It had always been pink and is in excellent condition. The realtor made them get it painted white.

Any suggestions?

maybe call the tub refinishing company to see if they can remove it? an abrasive cleanser, maybe peel away paint stripper

Or have it REpainted pink? Unless it was never or very seldom used, it's hard to believe a tub that old is in "excellent" condition.

Jasco Semi-Paste Multi-Surface Remover

Paint an epoxy remover

Can be had at Lowes.

Wear gloves, brush it on and let sit for 20 mins, then scrape it off with a flexible putty knife.

Well, congrats on the pink tub, and I hope it goes well in removing the new finish. Metro Detroit Craigslist has had a set of soap holders, toothbrush holders, towel bars, and the like for sale lately (see below).
