fixing white granite discoloration

I bought this prefab alaska white granite piece for bathroom sink top.
I noticed it was a little darker/yellower at the showroom, but proceeded anyway because of the character. Now that it's installed, it really looks discolored (almost stained looking).
Any chance of removing this yellow staining and restoring the proper white color? I'm currently trying a poultice with acetone/baby powder.
You can see in the pic below the left side has the yellowing and the right side looks more proper.
