American Champion 4 vs Toto Eco Drake

We are replacing 3 toilets in our house. They are Eljers and should come supplied with a snake as the clogging is so bad.

Two years ago we had one of our 4 toilets replaced with an AS Champion 4. It is the best thing we ever did. No clogs in two years. It is the only one we use in the house when we have to challenge the toilet! My son is so nervous about clogging the toilet that he will only go in this one. We also replaced our cabin toilet with a Champion 4 a year ago and again, no issues with clogging.

As you can see, clogging is the #1 priority for my toilet replacements. So I am ordering 2 more Champion 4s for my home and one Toto Eco Drake for the basement only because it is alot less expensive and its in the basement which doesn't get used alot.

Am I making a mistake by ordering the Toto Eco Drake? I'm curious to compare the two. My plumbing supplier installs so many and swears by them. They also install so many that we get a really good deal on them.

If you search the threads here on GW, you'll find numerous positive comments on the Toto Drake. In fact, I'd choose it over the Champion.

I would say that is most people's recommendation--the Drake--vs almost any other brand...

Buy TOTO - had them 10 years in last home. Maybe 1 or 2 clogs in the whole time. Moved into new apt, I"ve already had to plunge 2 times in a month.....

Got to *looove* the Drake.

I've had mine for 4 months. I constantly marvel that it works so well, given the low-flush action. Yet it dispatches everything. Occasionally I use the hold-down long flush, but that's infrequent. Streaks are rare and seem to resolve themselves. Quite a decently sized target zone. :)
