Marble saddles/niche shelves-polished or honed?

I'll be putting in carrara marble saddles in my bathrooms, as well as bottom shelving for shower niches, and the window ledge. I might even do marble shelves above the sinks because I can't figure out where else to put toothbrushes. Should all this marble be polished or honed?

I would think polished.

Might depend on the rest of your tile, etc. Our saddles are honed, because they worked best with our floor tile. Marble niche sides, tops, and bottoms, as well as the shelves are all polished White Thassos .

Hi Cat Mom! *waves* In one bathroom the wall tile is glassos (looks like thassos) and the floor is unglazed porcelain hex in dark chocolate. In the other the floor is honed (I think.) marble basketweave and the walls are glossy white 4x10 subway. I generally like the look of honed so may just go with that. Great when other people help you answer your own question!
