Please help w/backsplash! PICS!!

Hello! I'd love to hear your opinion! Trying to make some decisions regarding the master bath backsplash. We will have faux travertine 20x20 tile - diagonal set on the floor, straight set on the master tub face/deck, then same tile straight set on the windowsills/master tub backsplash. We will have an Aquasana pre-fab steam shower so no tile there. In the water closet, there will be diagonal set tile on the floor.

Here are some pics of our tile, sample of cabinet stain, tan brown granite countertop, and a backplash we are considering (stone/glass mix):

Here are pics of the space I need help with, starting from left side of the space:

Hers side, lower makeup vanity will be on left, higher sink vanity will be on right:

OK here are my questions:

1. BACKSPLASH MATERIAL: WHICH DO YOU LIKE BETTER?

A. Should I use the stone/glass mosaic tile (AZ tile sample pictured above)with a travertine pencil liner?

B. Should I use the same faux travertine tile that is in the bathroom (also pictured above) cut to 4x12 with either travertine pencil liner or chair rail liner (liners are in 12 inch lengths)?

2. CONTINUOUS BACKSPLASH?

A. Should I continue the backsplash across the room (i.e. continuous from hers vanity area, to tub area, to his vanity)?

Here is the concept (although will be different in my case since I have 2 windows with low windowsills, backsplash would wrap into window areas)

B. Should I just have the backsplash (either mosaic or 4x12 faux travertine tile) with pencil liner or chair rail liner just at the vanities, then backsplash at tub area would just be bullnosed faux travertine tile?

3. HEIGHT OF TUB BACKSPLASH

If I DON'T do a continuous backsplash (i.e., I would just do backsplash (mosaic or 4x12 tile) with liner at vanities, then at the tub area the backsplash would be bullnosed faux travertine tile), how high should the backplash go?

I would use the stone glass only at the vanities. It will set off the larger tiles very well and bring another texture. I love what you've chosen thus far.

I would definitely do the stone/glass mix tile. It would bring more interest into your space. I would probably just do it at the vanities and then do your travertine look tile around the tub.

Thanks yayagirl and eppressler! So how high should I go on the master tub backsplash with the faux travertine? Just a few inches above the windowsill?

ANOTHER QUESTION ABOUT OTHER BATHS:
I've been focusing on the master bath so much that I've neglected the other baths. For the other baths, we will have the same faux porcelain tile on the floor (straight set) and in the tub/shower (straight set). There will be shower curtains so no glass. Same cabinets and countertop as above.

I was just going to do the standard 4 inch granite backsplash, but now I'm wondering if I should do something different. BUT I want it to be low maintenance and inexpensive. Keep in mind one of the baths is a kids bath and will have a lot of use.

This is what I've considered so far:

2x2 tumbled travertine with matching pencil liner (but will require maintenance and probably expensive):

OR taking the floor tile and cutting into 4x12 with some kind of matching liner.

I've also considered just doing the standard 4 inch granite backsplash and then stepping it up with a really nice mirror.

WHAT DO YOU THINK? ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I think just a few inches above the windowsill would be fine. In your other bathrooms I think the granite backsplash in the kids bath would probably be the best choice.

OK, for the master bath I decided on the stone/glass mosaic with pencil liner - this will be at the vanities only. The master tub splash will be the faux travertine with bullnosed end pieces.

Still trying to decide on the "other" bath backplashes. For the kids bath, I agree with epressler that the 4 inch granite backsplash would be the least maintenance. I have 2 other baths to do, should I just stick to the 4 inch granite backsplash there as well ? Should I curve the edges of the backsplash? It will be $15 per curve so basically $30 per bathroom. Do you like the curved edge?
