Is toto 1525 really a soaker tub?

Hi all,

So today, we made the choice to replace out tub rather than reglaze and are now trying to decide on a tub.

My hubby is about 6' and would really like a tub with more depth. The current tub is very similar to the Kohler Villager (60 x 30 x 14).

I've been reading reviews of the Toto 1525, but the depth to overflow is confusing. Toto USA refers to this as a soaker, but does not list the depth to overflow on any PDFS. FaucetDirect has the depth to overflow listed as 15.25", but that seems impossible on a tub with a total height of 16".

We'd like cast iron, but we 100% need a tub that is 60" long and only 30-32" wide that can install in an alcove. So, if FaucetDirect is wrong, I'm thinking our only other option is the Archer Acrylic from Kohler.

onmiown3, mine was just delivered today and it looks like it is going to be more like 12". I can post a more exact number in a few days when it is installed.

I have an Archer in my garage at the moment! I ordered a deck mount, but the display model in the store was an alcove installation. It is very, very comfortable. I started out insisting on cast iron, but along the way changed my mind, and I am happy with acrylic now. As you probably know, the depth to overflow is quite high compared to the height of the tub, because of the unusual drain. The tub is easy to step into.

I believe that the term "soaker" is used to distinguish tubs that do not have jets. I'm not sure it really implies depth.

If you go acrylic and want deep, another option would be the Lasco Dossi series, which goes up to 23" deep in 32" (DOSSI 32 Q) and 30 3/4" (DOSSI 30 Q) widths.
